Advantages: High street fashion, good for basics and jeans

Disadvantages: everyone has the same stuff as you, very busy.

There are many places in the world that shoppers travel to in their masses... Paris, Milan, New York, TopShop... yes that's right Top Shop is up their with the best of 'em. Hollywood stars such as Mischa Barton, Drew Barrmoore and Nicky Hilton are all avid fans, and who can blame them.

If you are going to go into any TopShop then i reccomend the flagship store in London's Oxford Street. Not only does it have 3 floors of fashion (four including TopMan)it has a resturant, it's own TV channel broadcasting and live bands playing. It is a must go place.

I am going to describe/tell you about the Oxford Street store first:

As i walk through the big class doors i feel like a kid in a sweety shop. I am in awe of all the products i can see before my eyes. The ground floor is the accessorie/make up department, and everywhere you look you cannot escape the rows and rows of bags, jewelery, sunglasses, make up ranges, sweet selection and homeware products. It is amazing. Music is usually blaring out of speakers and there are numerous people milling around. Jewlery ranges from around £2 to £6 for Topshop's own range, but they also stock Mikey which is quite expensive, earrings are usually price at around £10, so i would stick to Topshops range. There are bags ranging from£5 canvas shoppers to £100 metalic slouch bags, but you can also buy really cool everyday bags from around £15-25. One the best things in this department which is also fairly new, is the bead section. Here you can buy lots of different kinds of beads and jewels and bracelet/neclace yarn, to enable you to make your own orriginal stuff. It iperates in kind of pix a mix system. There is a long isle checkout rigt in the middle so it saves you tugging things around.

As you make your way down to the basement, this is where all the clothes are stocked. The middle usually has all the latest fashion trends straight from the catwalk (they get new stock every friday). Towards the back is the shoe department where you can buy TopShop's own range which starts at around£6 for flipflops and £15 for ballet flats. To the right is all the basic stuff like their very popular vests and t-shirts which are excellent value and only cost £5. To the left is there underwear department and they quite often do 3 for £7 knickers and thongs which is excellent value. Bras range from £10, but they also stock Calvin Klein and Wonderbras. To the far left are the jeans which are excellent. They come in tall(34+), petite(28) and regular (30, 32). Although it is much easier to find regular jeans and trousers they do have sections dedicated to tall and petite, as well as a new maternity range. One thing i would say about the jeans is that everyone, and i mean everyone has them, so that can get a bit annoying but they are such a good fit that it doesn't really matter. The average price is £40 and they always have the traditional bootcut style which suits most people aswell as having the ones that are in fashion at that particular moment e.g. drainpipes, baggy etc. There are tills on both sides making it easy to pay and they also accept different currencies making it ideal for torrists. There is a customer service counter in the corner which will help find sizes for you and they are very helpful.

The floor below the basement is where TopShop keep their vintage clothes. I don't actually shop in that part but i'm sure if you look hard enough you will find a decent one off. This floor also sells different brands such as Pink Soda, but it is slightly more expensive. This floor also holds a resturant and toilets and whenever bands/singers play this is where it is held.

There are three changing rooms that are all very big and well lighted but at certain times, for example Saturday afternoons, you will have to wait along time, so sometimes it is better not to try it on.

The sales assistants are generally very helpfull i have never had a bad expereince, and it has quite a nice atmosphere. There are also lots of Sofas for bored boyfriends and dad's to wait, which is always quite amusing.

One thing i would say is that if you are an individual then this isnt the shop for you as everyone tends to have the same things.

Summary: A shoppers paradise.
