I love leggings as I find them so comfortable to wear around the house, and I do also wear them outside but make sure that I am wearing something long on the top. I actually bought these Top Shop ankle length leggings from Ebay and paid £1.04! When I am looking for something on Ebay I will alter the view to the soonest ending and often win items for 99p or just a bit more and have got some real bargains this way. I looked online and saw that these leggings were £12 and as these were new without tags I was very pleased with this purchase. These leggings are black as are most of my pairs and they are 95 per cent viscose and 5 per cent elastane which gives them their stretch. They have the usual elasticated waist which is about an inch which is very comfortable. I am probably between sizes 16-18 with leggings and these are a size 18 so are a comfortable fit for me to lounge round in. They look and feel quite thick and there are no thin areas even around the parts which are taking the most strain. The length of these leggings is perfect for me and they do come to the bottom of my ankle so I can tuck them into my socks without worrying that I am going to have a gap in between when I am wearing them in the house and they don't rise up above my boots if I wear them out with my ankle boots. I think that leggings can be flattering for any shape or size if you dress them up with a suitable long top and I think they can make you look slimmer than some jeans or trousers. I wash these leggings at 30 degrees and then dry them on the clothes airer but you can also tumble dry them. They don't take long to dry and they don't need any ironing, they have not faded or bobbled and still look as good as new. If I wear them for a few days the knees do bag a little bit but as soon as I wash them they go back to their original shape. I think they can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion and are very versatile and I think I got a fabulous buy with these and will continue to search Ebay for more bargains.
For Christmas I was a very lucky girl indeed. Along with plenty of presents from my Mum I received a considerable amount of money too on the premise that I didn't spend it on bills or anything for my home for a change and just spent it on myself. I decided to buy myself a few wardrobe essentials to smarten myself up with and one thing I wear alot of is leggings as I find them easy to dress up or down depending on my mood and that as my weight fluctuates with my eating disorder that they stretch a bit (or alot depending on the ones you buy of course) and another great fact about leggings is that they dry easily in my home as I don't have a tumble drier and its no good putting washing out in this awful weather we are having at the moment! One of the shops I rarely even look in is TopShop. I've always liked the look of the clothing but never have I been a fashionesta and at 39 years old now I really don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb trying to be bang on trend with the teenagers. However just after Christmas I browsed in a lot of shop for bargains and found myself in TopShop. At first I thought oh dear this was a mistake as I mingled with youngsters young enough to be my daughters however did manage to find the wardrobe essentials I was looking for! TopShop sell alot of leggings and I mean alot of them too. Lots of different designs, styles (calf, long etc) and plenty of sizes including both Petite and Long options in many so really you are spoilt for choice! I opted to buy the plain black ankle leggings in a regular fit in the end and in my usual size 12. These do come in sizes 4-16 and I do think they should stock larger sizes too for the record seeming as they seem do go very tiny! In appearance these are very plain indeed which is the whole reason I bought them in the first place. Like I have already mentioned I bought these in black and that black is a very nice deep and jet black. The waist is slightly elasticated but doesn't add bulk to my frame which is appreciated as its smooth and to my skin and the legs are tight so not baggy and they do skim my ankles with seams to the inside of each leg. They are made from 95% Viscose and 5% Elastane so do have a lot of give to them though I do find that even after wearing them for quite a few hours that they don't 'give' at the knees at all and look unsightly! These are machine washable and as I don't have a tumble drier I cant comment whether tumbling them is a good idea personally I wouldn't even if I did have one due to the having elastane in them and they do dry quickly anyway. Even though I wash and wear these often I have had no issues at all with shrinkage, bobbling or colour fade and they have stayed as smart as when I bought them. Another bonus is because of them being a legging is that I don't have to iron them because as soon as I put them on the wrinkles and creases simply fall out anyway! At £12.00 a pair I do think that they are pricey however they are excellent quality and look smart on and are easy to dress up with a nice top and a pair of heels at the last minute! All in all I really do appreciate having these in my wardrobe and will definately purchase some more when I next go into town! They are good quality and you cant see through them and are worth the money! Only available from TopShop!
I have a pair of Topshop ankle leggings as I tend to wear leggings quite often, especially when I am slopping around the house, but also when I'm dressing casually to go out. The Topshop ankle leggings cost me £12.00 from the Topshop store in Cheltenham High Street, which I think is an okay price, although I'm aware that you can pick up leggings considerably cheaper than this nowadays - but for convenience I still bought them and they are still an okay price. The leggings come in black and they are a deep black which I find preferable to many of the cheaper brands that seem to be barely black. Their colour hasn't faded after washing and they do wash well. They come in sizes 6 - 16, although it is worth noting that the sizes are quite "small" and I have a size 16 despite usually being a size 14. The leggings are made from viscose and elastane and so they are stretchy and so they are really comfortable to wear. They feel nice and soft on my legs and the seams are subtle and don't rub at all. There is nothing remarkable or unremarkable about these leggings, but what I have found is that they do tend to go a big baggy when I've had them on for a few hours. They do loose their bagginess once they have been washed again, but it does annoy me that they go baggy around the bum and knees. I have found that this tends to be a sign of low quality leggings - and for that reason I am not very enamoured with them. Overall, I just think there are better quality leggings around and I wouldn't particularly recommend these.
Before leggings came into my life I was jeans girls and I hated leggings as I only ever noticed them being worn as trousers so I could see everyones lumps and bumps and all too clearly the camel toe, and if they were cheap primark ones I could tell what underwear people were wearing. However on a coach ride to London with a friend I was wearing my usual jeans and was quite uncomfortable as they were new and tight while she was wearing leggings, she wears them with dresses, which is one of the best ways in my opinion. She really recommended I get a pair as they were so comfy and said Topshops were best as they are tight and don't wrinkle or get saggy knees (hate wrinkles and saggy knees!!). So I caved in... I bought mine for about £10 with my student discount but they only £12 without which I think is very fair for the quality you get. Topshop offer you a choice of length too which I thought was very good idea as I'm pretty short and other shops I have since bought leggings from seem to be too long all the time. I put them on and was amazed, it felt like I was wearing nothing they were so comfortable and felt so soft! They were tight so they didn't wrinkle but not uncomfortably tight like tights can be. I always make sure I wear tops or dresses that are long enough to cover my bum as I still really hate seeing this part of girls. Another great point about leggings is that the weather can never catch you out, they perfect for summer and winter, somehow keeping you warm or cool when needed! Topshop are really great for leggings, others places I have tried are New Look and H&M. New Looks leggings are quite thin and easily rip and wrinkle and H&M leggings seem to be thicker and the elastic stronger making them less uncomfortable, however the colour lasts longer in them. This is the only problem I found with Topshop leggings, after a few months of wear, I found the black faded to a dark grey colour, although this is after A LOT of wearing and washing. I mostly wear this pair if I'm just cleaning the house now or doing some running (haha joking I don't run! ...but if I did I'd wear them). However having said they must have changed the dye they use since I bought this pair as the ones I have since purchased have held the colour quite well and haven't become overstretched or had holes worn in them anywhere which is amazing after the amount of wear I've got out of them. I really recommend them as they are so comfortable and a great material that doesn't lose their shape, or go bobbly or see-through like many other leggings out there. Definitely worth the price as they are the best quality leggings out there and they are an essential in most womens wardrobes these days.
I am a huge fan of Topshop. I Love how they can combine style, quality and price in one nice little package.... With the exceptions of basic leggings of course. I bought a pair of black leggings from Topshop a month ago as I desperately needed a pair as I just work through them like I do pasta. So I shelled out £12 thinking that I was getting a bargain with my student discount(student cards make you feel like a well endowned superior being.) They looked fine on the hanger and the sales assistant kept glancing over at me poking the fabric, inadvertently causing me to buy the leggings. And so I took them home and thought I am going to wear these leggings for special occasions only seeing as they were the most expensive leggings I have ever owned. A month later I am left with two scabby holes in the knees. Ok so this is not uncommon in leggings, but I have had leggings from Primark that have lasted me longer and I have paid a lot less for. I must say I am not over the moon about the quality of these leggings, they are your average leggings which you are paying more than average for. So for a basic pair of leggings go somewhere basic...like Primarni or Peacocks. I am still an ardent fan of Topshop and always will be, but sometimes reality kicks in and you realise that those extra pennies could be spent more wisely.
When leggings first hit the shelves (again) about 2-3 years ago I was sceptical of the old fashioned trend being reinvented but given that they are sold cheaply I jumped on the leggings bandwagon! My first pair of leggings were purchased from New Look then Bay Trading and my latest pair are from Top Shop. My leggings from New Look and Bay Trading easily came in holes which was disappointing, this is what led me to buying a more expensive pair of leggings to see if the quality had risen in line with the price tag. These leggings are standard black and are full length. I ordered them online in a size 8 and find that they are a perfect fit which is quite hard to find with leggings given the tight material. They fit perfectly in the leg and stop at the ankle with no 'wrinkling' which I don't like with leggings so I was glad about that! The elasticated waistband make the leggings comfortable too as it is not too restrictive like other leggings and jeans that I own. The actual material of the leggings is not too thin but not too thick either meaning that they make the perfect outfit for any weathers which is particularly useful in England! I find leggings highly versatile and wear them under dresses, with long vest tops and shirts and also find that heels, boots and flat shoes go well with the leggings meaning that I am not restricted to what footwear I can wear with these leggings. I have had these leggings for about 4 months and have washed them a lot (as I tend to wear them at least once a week) at first washing my leggings did not compromise the quality but recently I have noticed 'bobbles' appearing they aren't very noticable at the minute but they no longer look crisp and new which again is disappointing. The leggings are available in sizes 6-16 at just £12 which I think is reasonable as they are a really nice material and look great.
I bought these several months ago to wear on my DofE expedition, because i thought they would be good quality and therefore last, unlike previous pairs from primark - And i was right! These leggingsare extremely comfortable, good quality material that isn't see through, and not a single hole in sight! For £12 i think they were a good buy, although H&M do brilliant leggings for around a fiver which, in my opinion, are very nearly just as good as this pair from Topshop. I wear leggings quite a lot and this pair have seen me through from May to September (and survived two DofE expeditions!) and they still look reasonably good, although i think it might be time for a new pair. My only negative on these is that they fall down quite a lot, and feel a bit baggy sometimes, but maybe that's just me buying the wrong size. Overall, i do reccommend these leggings.
Wanting a decent pair of leggings for a long time I had tried many high street and supermarket brands looking for the perfect pair to go with any outfit. Having tried and had many pairs fade, become see through and easily get holes in I thought I should try a higher end pair of leggings from Topshop. The £18 price tag was slightly off putting as other high street shops sell leggings at a fraction of the price however in Topshop I was able to look at various designs such as Ankle, Calf and a variety of colours such as purple, teal, blue and demin look leggings. Once purchased I wore these leggings on various occassions such as shopping trips, lazy days, nights out and out walking the dogs. They feel extremely soft against skin and don't begin to fade or stretch. My leggings have lasted me a considerable length of time and have not caused me a problem resulting in me purchasing another. These leggings are definately a wardrobe staple that lasts and lasts.
Style: Ankle length leggings with an elasticated waste. They're a simple style and not much different from any other brand of leggings available. Topshop's leggings do however come in a variety of different styles, including cut-offs (these come down just below the knee) and high waisted leggings. This particular style is my favourite as they look like tight black jeans/trousers, and although many people think that leggings are slobby, when matched with the right outfits and shoes, they look great, for example, i'd never dream of wearing leggings with a baggy t shirt and flats like most people do (each to there own!), and i usually pair mine with heels and a nice fitted top, which is long enough to cover my bum as i don't like the idea of every detail of my bum bein on show, as they're tight and cling to every lump and bump! Another option is to wear them underneath a pair of shorts or a skirt, but i don't bother with this as i prefer bare legs when wearing shorts/skirts. I love the style and these are an essential in my wardrobe. Comfort and Durability: Most people will think when seeing 'Topshop' and 'leggings' in the same sentence, "Why would i buy topshop leggings when i can nip down my local primarni and pick some up for pennies?" The awnser is simple. Quality. They don't stretch out, they don't become holey and ragged after a few weeks and most importantly they're comfy but not so much so that they feel like pj's. They're easy to slip on, keep there shape and are nice and discreet. They're fine to wear throughout the day and even in the hot weather the material doesn't get sweaty and yucky like the lower quality leggings. They're a soft material with a silky, thick nylon feel to them and to be honest don't add a huge amount of warmth so it's probably better to wear them during the warmer weather, or under jeans to add warmth in the winter. I have dogs, one of which is yellow, and i used to find that my leggings would be ruined by her fur that had malted, but these are able to be machine washed and the hair comes off fine. Colour Options: Black Navy White Grey Light Brown Various Others - Will depend on your local topshop's stock but i'd reccomend going and having a look! Online there seems to be only black available at the moment. Sizing Options: UK 6-16. I find topshop are very accurate with there sizing and a size 8 fits me perfectly - i've had a pair of similar priced leggings from Matalan in a size 8 and they were falling off me! Material: 95% Viscose and 5% Elastane. Machine washable. Price and Value: £12. I don't go mad buying loads of these as i find that one pair will last plenty of time so i feel that £12 is a great price considering the quality and amount of wear i get out of a pair. To be fair, £12 for something with a Topshop label is pretty cheap! Overall reccomended! Can't really fault them - comfy, look good, high quality.
These leggings are worth paying a little extra for compared to some other shops which I've bought leggings from in the past. The quality is far better and although they stretch a little after they've been worn a few times, the colour doesn't fade and they don't rip or tear. Considering they are an essential part to most of our wardrobes, in my opinion it is worth paying a little bit more for a product that you know will last and that you can wear a considerable amount of times. The material is soft and stretchy so they're easy to put on and take off yet they're comfortable enough to wear all day at the same time. The leggings don't go bobbley as I've found with others. Overall, they're definitely durable which is reflected in the price. Its worth paying a little more for a product that you can be sure will last and look good at the same time!
I got these leggings from Topshop a while ago. There a basic staple to your wardrobe as they go with everything but having the wrong pair can be a big hassle. I have tryed and tested leggings from places such as Tesco, Newlook, Next, River island. The leggings cost me around £12 which seemed quite a lot to me as usually a go through leggings quite quickly due to the fact I wear them most day. My leggings were Black, size 10, and are around 94% Viscose,6% Elastane! There a nice length and fit me just above the ankle which I think is the perfect length. There are really soft to touch and feel silky smooth on my legs aha! Everything about them seemed pretty prefect when I first got them. The length of the crotch area was quite large so they went over my hips rather than my tummy sticking on top which I hate as you get the whole "muffin" tummy look. these tucked in my stomach nicely! The first issue I noticed was that they went baggy after a few hours which I thought was a pain as they looked pretty awful when they were baggy around me knee. I tried to give them another go but the same thing happened again. I've therefore tried to tumble dry the leggings so that they stay tight for longer which does work but has caused them to spit out elastic which makes them look a bit worn out and I now have a few holes in the crotch. If I was to recommend these leggings my advice would be that you need to get a smaller size than usual and that if you want them to have a longer shelf life do not tumble dry them ! I have tried to take them back but apparently it is due to "wear and tear" not sure if that is completely true but all in all, not a good pair of leggings.
Now I have a bit of a thing for leggings and it has taken me a fair amount of trying different brands of leggings to find my perfect ones. I just find that they are incredibly easy to wear and they cover up a bit more than a pair of tights. I have literally brought pairs from everywhere from Primark (around £3 and go horribly bobbly and out of shape very quickly) New Look (Around £8-£10, teeny tiny on the legs and not a very soft material) and Dorothy Perkins to name a few. I then got brought these ones for Christmas from Topshop and finally my quest for the perfect legging is over. Now Topshop stock a fantastic huge range of leggings in all sorts of prints patterns and colours from tie dye to leopard, floral and stripes. They also stock the leggings in which this review is about in various colours ranging from sand, brick, camel, white, black, navy, grey and the list goes on. They also come in high waisted, ankle length, calf length and just below the knee (more of a pedal pusher style). They are also available in tall, petite, regular and also maternity which come with an extra bit for over the tummy! I own the regular ankle leggings in black which cost £12 and they are super soft material which is a mix of 95% viscose and 5% elastane. They have literally lasted me so well, they don't do the strange bunching up around the knees after a few hours wear, they don't fade or go bobbly and still look in perfect condition. I will go back to these leggings again and again as yes they are slightly more expensive than you can pick them up for in places like Primark but these last such a long time and feel lovely. I really to recomend you try these!
I'm a big fan of leggings. Id rather wear leggings than tights as I feel a little more covered up in them! I think they are a fashion essential for this winter again. I have previously purchased cheap leggings e.g. £3 Primark, yes they did the job, but didn't really last that well. A couple of months ago I in vested in a brown pair from Topshop and I think this is one of my best buys. They are ankle leggings, a great length because they are long enough and don't ride above my boots. The material is soft and the colour is great. They must have had about 7 washes by now and the colour has remained the same. I always wash them on 30 degrees as recommended on the label. They feel much stretchier than the previous, cheaper ones that I have bought. The materials used, 94% Viscose and 6% Elastane. They are also comfy to wear and they don't dig in at the waste. The elastic waistband is covered by the soft legging material. So far they havn't lost shape, no saggy knees as of yet. Another plus point for me is that they don't need to be ironed, although is says on the label to use a cool iron. They aren't the cheapest leggings around, but for £12 they were well worth that money. It was money well spent because they are still like new. Advised to reshape whilst damp, not to tumble dry and to wash with similar colours. I might even invest in another pair! I am almost sure that they are available in a few different colours. Happy shopping!!
I bought a pair of these leggings a few days ago and I can honestly say that I'm living in them! They are so comfy, almost go with any tunic top/shirt you can think of and not forgetting they are so flattering, what a bonus! They do cost quite a fair bit, at £12, but if you are a student like me you'll be able to get 10% off, but that's only if you have an NUS card or some form of student card! I did that and there was a 20% off for all students and I got my leggings for ten pounds, now that's what I call a good price! Most leggings would normally wear out after a few months, but these ones can last you up to a year and the color doesn't fade (Like most leggings fade after one or two washes) They range from size six to sixteen, however they are quite big cuts, so you may want to go for a smaller size, for example, mine are a size 12 whereas I can be a size 14 bottom. As well you can move around them easily and you can be a felixable as you like! It's best to buy the leggings in store, rather than buying online, then you will know if the size, shape of leggings etc. You can find topshop stores in nearly every town and city over the UK, and they are always in so you never have to worry about this item selling out! overall these are worth buying, this is due to lasting period, and the quality of the product.
Overview Since leggings have come back into fashion I've been living in them. I've never been one for jeans anyway, I feel too manly in them, so leggings were a lifesaver for me as I was getting bored of skirts and tights. I initially bought a pair of Primark ones (£3, bargain ...) and they were okay. You got what you paid for, after a while holes would appear in the crotch and they were always slightly see through. So after around my fourth pair getting wrecked, I decided to invest in some more, from Topshop. These retail at £12, and they're well worth the money. Good points Firstly, they're not see-through! I can wear these without worrying that my bum is literally on show. They're actually opaque, as leggings should be. Secondly, I've had them a good 3 months or so now and despite the fact that I've worn them about 4 or 5 times a week (told you I lived in leggings) they still look like new - some slight bobbling at the top inner thighs, but no sagging in the knees, and no holes anywhere. And finally, the waistband. I'm only a small(ish :() size ten but the Primark ones used to dig in too much at the hips, due to the elastic they used. And it'd give me little lovehandles, which a 17 year old does not want! The elastic used in these is much more easily stretched, so it fits just right without clinging on too hard. Bad points Erm. Well, they're more expensive than my old ones? (But also a million times better, so that point's void.) Erm. Oh, the ankles are slightly too loose - I have skinny little ankles. And that'd be about it really ...
