I've had this top for around 6 months now and picked it up in once of the recent TopShop sales. I do love TopShop clothes, no matter how hard I try to resist their fashionable garments if I have the money I just have to spend it in there as I always love 99% of the items in stock! The top is a bandeau shape which means that it is is a boob tube and does not have any arms or straps. This can be a very flattering look and can be great for a day time or a night time look. I'm a size 6 and therefore bought it in size 6 this fits comfortably under my arms and around my chest and back without it digging in or causing irritation. My main concern was that it may be prone to fall down especially on nights out which could be embarassing but there is no danger or this as the elastic is very sturdy. The design of the top is thin navy blue and white stripes. This can be quite plain but it is very easy to dress this top up or down. The design also makes it easy to put it with other garments. I wear this top during the day tucked into jeans or over leggings and at night time but high waisted denim shorts or hareem trousers. The top is quite thin but it is meant to be a summery top so this doesn't cause any major problems, I actually like the feel of the material as it is very soft and lightweight. I have washed this top several times and have noticed that the colour has faded slightly but the quality is still still excellent. I got this top for £8 in the sale but I think the original price was £18. I did see this top recently in Oxford Topshop so it is still available to buy and is a great wardrobe staple piece!
I picked this up on sale in Topshop for £6.00 because it had a make up stain on it, I thought I might as well get it because I liked it and it was better than paying full price, plus being an expert with getting foundation on clothes I knew it would come out in the wash. The top is a strapless bandeau and is navy and white, its the perfect summer top and very easy to wear, it goes with lots of things, I have worn it with leggings and flip flops, high waisted denim shorts and a long black skirt, it honestly can be worn with lots of things, it can also be worn as a dress because its quite long but I personally think it looks ridiculous unless your just around your house, I dont see the point in wearing a tunic as a short dress.. The material is quite stretchy and because of this its very easy for most shapes, its very body con though so if your very overweight I would avoid or at least wear some control underwear ( like me! ) as it will show every lump and bump on your body and as much as I like people being happy with their bodies, its just horrible to see overweight people wearing clothes too tight for them. When on it covers my boobs perfectly, and I think it looks best this way because when pulled down to reveal a bit more of my boobs it looks strange, I think all bandeau tops look strange when women try and show off their boobs, I think they are tops which are meant to be worn with no boob on show! Also if your wearing this avoid a strap bra, looks wrong, go for a strapless bra instead as it gives such a better look and not to mention you wont be getting no tan lines in the sun! The top is so comfortable to wear, its not itchy, doesn't make you too warm and doesn't stick to you, it also has lasted perfectly even though I have worn it about 10 times washing it after each use, the colour is still as vibrant and its a great girly casual top which can also be dressed up too.
Top Shop at the age of 36 is a place I never really shop in. I sometimes find myself instore browsing and think the prices are reasonably good however I never really see anything in there that isn't so fashionable it makes me look like mutton dressed as lamb.......until the other week that is when I saw this lovely top and I simply had to have it and at £18.00 I thought for a top that looked as nice as this and felt as good quality as it did it was very worth the money indeed in my opinion. This was available in blue and white stripe, black (the option I went for) and white (which is also in a petite option) and available online at topshop.co.uk. In sizes 8-16 this top is longline with no straps and made from Lycra/Elastane which means its slightly stretchy but at the same doesn't go out of shape easily and snaps back into its original intended state on the body and isn't one bit baggy. With a ruched design this is really flattering. Like I say it has no straps and sits above the bust safely and without being revealing and being longline it comes to below the bottom. I can wear this as a dress if I want to and feel daring enough though on my 5.8 frame it is a little daring and in my opinion this is a top that looks fantastic dressed up or down and being ruched in the material (with gather) it doesn't show up my tummy at all! This is a true to size top (the size 10 fits me perfectly) and it is fully machine washable and tumble dry safe. It is a smooth lightweight top that I've had no issues with taking care of at all and I absolutely love it and highly recommend it as its so versatile! Only available in Topshop stores or from he website.
As it's summer now i've been stocking up on lots of new summer style clothes to ensure i've got something to sling on that's lightweight, and go out and about without been too hot and bothered. One of the items i bought was this top, which is a 'Bandeau Tunic'. This top is in season due to the nautical pattern (thin blue and white stripes), and is sleeveless which avoids any tan lines while out in the sun. As you can see in Dooyoo's picture it's quite a long top and so could easily pass as a dress as it comes mid thigh on me and i'm 5'3. It can also be worn with leggings because of the length (i only wear tops that cover my bum when wearing leggings!) and can be worn with jeans aswell, although i prefer to wear it with leggings (brown or nude) for a more summery look. The bandeau isn't low cut at all and covers my chest but shows a glimpse of cleaveage, though it can be adjusted (pulled down slightly) for a more sexier look, however this backfires as it makes the top longer! I wear a strapless bra with this as in my opinion it would look ridiculous with bra straps showing. Even though this top doesn't show off too much flesh due to the length, it's still a very sexy and feminine top because it's in a bodycon style, so it is very figure hugging and shows off curves well without been uncomfortable - it feels comfy due to the soft and stretchy material (55% Polyester and 45% Cotton). I have folded the dress up before to make it slightly shorter and it looked great. The top was £18 and in my opinion this is a good price. Not only is it a Topshop product (Topshop are a hugely fashionable brand who produce good quality items), but it's also a 2-in-1; a top and a dress. It's in season with the style and the bandeau style is also great because it acts as a bandeau and a bodycon. This is available instore and online in sizes 6-16, i got a size 8 and it fits great, it's adjusted to my shape perfectly and isn't over the top in stretchiness like some bandeau styles can be. It is easy to keep clean and can be hand or machine washed, i've washed mine a number of times and there has been no fading or bobbling etc. Overall this is a comfy, great value and good quality top which can suit everyone as it's so adjustable and is versatile enough to suit any occasion; it can be dressed up (jewellery etc), or worn casually.
