I do love leggings as I find them really comfortable to wear in the house but I do also wear them outside but make sure that I am wearing something long on the top. I bought these Topshop denim leggings in a dark blue colour and paid £12 in the sale.
These leggings are made of quite a good quality denim which is quite thin but feels like very good quality as they have a really good stretch to them. They have the usual elasticated waist which is about an inch which is very comfortable. I am probably between sizes 16-18 with leggings and these are a size 18 so are a comfortable fit for me to lounge round in. They look and feel quite thick and there are no thin areas even around the parts which are taking the most strain.
The length of these leggings is perfect for me and they do come to just past my knees and I think that leggings can be flattering for any shape or size if you dress them up with a suitable long top and I think they can make you look slimmer than jeans or trousers. They have a double seam down the outside leg which makes them very flattering to wear.
I wash these leggings at 30 degrees and then dry them on the clothes airer but you can also tumble dry them. They don't take long to dry and they don't need any ironing, they have not faded or bobbled and still look as good as new. If I wear them for a few days the knees do bag a little bit but as soon as I wash them they go back to their original shape. I think they can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion and are very versatile and I think I had a fabulous buy with these.
Up until now I have always worn just plain black leggings. I have never liked the printed leggings and although some coloured leggings are nice I have always avoided them because I worry I don't have tops that would go with them, whereas black goes with everything and so is the safest option.
When I was shopping for winter clothes a few months back I bought a couple of jumpers and long tops/tunics. A lot of the tops I bought were long at the back and short at the front like a 'fishtail top' as they are referred to as! I decided to look for thicker leggings to go with them rather than my black ones which I thought were too thin. This is when I came across the Topshop denim leggings. They are available in a few different shades on the Topshop website, which is where i purchased mine from. They come in a 'deep indigo' shade which is a very dark blue denim colour and the shade I opted for. Other colours are charcoal grey and a slightly lighter blue denim colour.
The denim leggings cost £22 each and are available in sizes 6 up to 16. I am usually a size 8 but in Topshop I think there clothes are very tight fitting and so I am often a size 10. I decided to purchase the size 8 as they are leggings and so hoped they would be stretchy enough, luckily they are and fit perfectly. I am around 5"4 and these are not too long on me and so if you are quite tall I think these leggings may still fit you. They are not high waisted, as I know Topshop do have high waisted leggings available, but they do stretch quite high up and stay there, which is what I like. There is nothing worse than having to keep pulling leggings or tights up all day after sitting down!
The colour of these are perfect, from far away you can't really notice the denim affect that much, but up close you can. I do think the lighter blue leggings available will look more like 'jeggings' from far away. I never used to be a fan of jeggings but these have definitely made me change my mind!
These leggings are so comfy as they are a stretchy material. I now want these in other colours too now. They are a perfect fit. I did think £22 was quite pricey for some leggings but the quality of these are very good. I have also looked around in many other shops for some denim look leggings at a cheaper price, but can't seem to find any anywhere.
I bought these on a whim but they are actually now one of my wardrobe staples. I paid £20 for them which is obviously a significant amount of money to pay for a pair of leggings compared to other brands such as Primark, but because I get so much wear out of them and they're such good quality, in my opinion they are worth every penny. I've even seen these on eBay selling for upto £40 for some bizzare reason so they are obviously popular. The leggings are in the 'jegging' style which means they look like jeans but are obviously leggings - i'm sure you will all know what I mean! They're ankle length and are nice and stylish, they're very on trend and they remind me a little of colour block jeans and chinos but obviously they are much more feminine as they are skin tight.
I have these jeggings in 'orchre' which is a gorgeous golden yellow colour. It looks quite brownish in the picture but they are actually really bright, adding a more unique look to them. Despite how vile flattering fitthey sound from my description they actually look amazing on and I can't reccomend them enough. They're so soft and comfortable and are a very flattering fit. Despite how figure hugging they are they are suprisingly flattering. The colour goes with anything and doesn't clash with similar colours like I was worried about. I am against wearing leggings as trousers however with these they really do look like jeans due to the seam detailing so I do wear them as trousers and they look great as long as I have a reasonably long top on.
These are available in sizes 6-16 however only 12, 14 and 16's are available online so if you are a 6-10 then you will have to buy in store. I am a size 8 and have found these leggings to be very true to size and they fit just right. They are not baggy on my knees or ankles at all and the elastane in the waste band is not losing its shape yet after 2 months of regular use. They're not the most stretchy pair of leggings and are only 11% elastane - the other material is 65% cotton and 24% polyester. These leggings wash well and dry really quickly and I would reccomend these to anyone who likes the look of them.
