“ Brand: Topshop / Type: Womens Dress „
I find it very hard to find dresses that suit my shape (hour glassish but slightly bigger thighs) that I actually like aswell, because I never like anything to be too OTT and fancy.
I came across these dresses in Topshop and liked the feeling of the material so I tried one on and not to sound big headed, it looked pretty good! It was tight around my waist and boobs and then flared out just above the hips and ended about half way down my thighs. It was that perfect tightness that lets you breath but also helps keep everything looking smooth. I also liked that the straps are quite thick and the neckline quite lowish, I ended up buying two of them!
These dresses come in a variery of colours and a leopard print pattern which I bought to wear for my birthday night! What's great about these dresses is they can be dressed up with a fancy belt and heels or worn really casually through the day. I love wearing them in the Summer because they are very light and compliment my body shape.
They are a good price too, costing about £22 (even cheaper with a student card heheh). H&M have recently come out with their own version with more colours and at a cheaper price but the quality is not as good which is what makes these Topshop dresses so great. Because of the material used, which I think is a lyrca and cotton mix, the colours will be hard to fade (except blac because black always fades a bit doesn't it?) and the material won't get overstretched and become mishapen.
The only downside is because they are so light they do blow up a lot in the wind!
My uniform for work is plain black and all us girl have different style, some girls wear trouser, leggings and skirts, as long as it's black it really doesn't matter what you wear. I like to wear a dress and after losing weight I needed to shop around for a new outfit to wear. Stumbling around town not really being able to find a plain black dress I went into top shop and there on the circular rail was a selection of plain coloured and plain shaped dresses.
This type of dress came in lot of colours from black to red to green to leopard print. Of course I chose the black one to try on. The design of the dress is very simplistic. It has wide shoulder straps which measure approximately 1 inch wide, perhaps a little wider than that, it then has a rounded neck line that fits alone your bust not too far so you can see any cleavage unless you pull it down. The back is similar to this line only not as far down your back as it is down the front. This top part clingy to your torso showing of your figure. At the hips this starts to flare out a little to create the skirt part, this comes down to half way between my knee and my thigh and I'm 5ft 2".
The dress is made of polyester which makes this dress stretchy which is how it gets it's clinginess. I love this because if I put on weight or lose weight it will still cling to me so it won't be baggy unless I put on or lose weight dramatically which I don't think that will ever happen. I find that the neckline for this is a little high for me so I do pull it down a little bit without that sounding slutty but I like to wear necklaces so I like to leave enough room to have one without the dress spoiling it.
When wearing this to work I team this up with thick black tights and shiny brogues sometimes some cheap pumps, also I'll have a cardigan on with this most of the time. This make a nice outfit which does look classy enough to wear out or plain enough to wear for work or just for casual, you can also put a belt with this if you wanted although it doesn't have belt loops but sometimes I'll wear a tan belt with this if I'm wearing it casually.
I have this in size 8 but I think this ranges from size 6 maybe a 4 to size 18 so this can fit a lot of people. It is safe to put this is on a normal wash in the washing machine so which ever you wash your clothes on this will be fine to go in as well, the colour doesn't run or fade either. The durability of this is really good I've caught myself on loads of things at work and it hasn't ripped or nagged on anything, I think that's because it isn't very thin or flimsy and it' really good quality for its price which was only £20.
