“ Brand: Topshop / Type: Cardigan „
I had been saving up for this Topshop cardigan for a couple of months and finally bought it a few weeks ago. I love it! I initially thought was well worth the £42 I paid although I do wish they were £20 or so cheaper so that I could buy all of the colours as they're all so pretty, plus they are not much better than similar Primark cardigans as they are not the best quality as you will see. I have the cardigan in the same gorgeous browny pinky red shade that is on the Dooyoo picture (although it is a little bit lighter than in the picture) but there are also navy and cream cardi's in this style which are equally as gorgeous and I will be buying the navy one once I have enough money spare.
The style of the cardigan is quite average really. It is in the boyfriend cardigan style - long and oversized (very slubby) with a deep V neck. The cardigan has 2 pockets at the bottom which are quite deep and I can fit in my iPod/phone into each one and the pockets hold them securely so I don't have to worry about them falling out. There is hole detailing on each shoulder which isn't really noticeable unless I am wearing a bright coloured top underneath the cardigan. The holes are speckled around and they add to the vintage type look that the cardigan has. The black plastic buttons that run down the middle of the cardigan are easy to undo and do up, although they are quite lightweight/cheap feeling rather than solid buttons which is a let down due to the price. One of them is already coming loose from the stitching after just 3 weeks of irregular use, so I am not very happy!!
Despite this, I do like the cardi and it's extremely soft and cosey. The cardigan is extremely long on me and comes just above my knees which I wasn't expecting but I am only 5'3 so on taller girls it will probably look better. Because it's so long on me it's not very flattering and the fact that it is oversized doesn't help so I always pair it with tight jeans or shorts so that people can tell that the cardigan is oversized and that i'm not ginormous! I sometimes wear it open aswell (unbuttoned) which gives the cardigan a really gorgeous autumn type look and it looks amazing with shorts and long burgundy socks. I have a picture on my Lookbook of this outfit - if anyone wants to see then feel free to message me as it really shows the cardi in all its glory lol.
The cardigan's a chunky knit and the stitching is perfect, although it gets bobbly really easily and mine is quite bobbled already, which looks a little scruffy but as I am a lover of vintage type clothing I don't particulary mind because it makes it look vintage, but obviously for the price I paid I was not expecting it to bobble! The cardi is made up of : 47% acrylic, 44% nylon and 9% mohair so as you can see from the materials, it is extremely soft and cosey and is nice and thick so it is ideal as a winter cardigan and I will be most likely using this as a coat in winter as it is so insulating and cosey. Washing the cardigan is easy as it is machine washable and it dries suprisingly quickly.
I would reccomend this cardigan and it is available in sizes 8-16 so it is not limited to just skinny girls or big girls, however because it is so baggy (I am a size 8, I got a size 8 and it looks like a size 12), I would not reccomend this if you are self concious of your body as it does make me look bigger than I am. This can be fixed by wearing skinny jeans but the bagginess is something to be aware of before you part with your cash.
