These shorts are very controversial, they can be dressed up or dressed down. They look good with many different outfits- you can wear them with heels and a vest top for a dressy look, or you could wear them with a baggy jumper tucked in, with tights and boots.
I found that these shorts were quite short, they just covered my bum, so if you prefer something a bit longer, then maybe purchase these shorts from the "tall" section, as this often adds inches to the length. Alternatively, you could just make sure that tights are worn to conceal your dignity!
They were quite a tight fit for normal Topshop clothing, so you may want to get a size up. Especially after a large meal, I found that they were quite tight around my stomach area, as they came up quite high. If you are concious about your stomach, get a size up and then the shorts distract attention from your stomach.
I particularly like the buttons that are on the shorts, which makes them more interesting than just plain shorts, and also gives the feel that they are slightly a more dressy type of short. The colour being dark also adds to the look, showing that it will go well with most outfits.
A wardrobe must have!
These shorts are part of the MOTO brand in top shop, you can't find these anywhere other than top shop or used on Ebay. When I bought these they were £25 but I haven't seen these in my local Top shop but these can be found regularly on Ebay. These come in both black and a navy blue. I bought these in navy blue because at the time I could afford the usual black moto shorts so I stuck with these instead.
These shorts are high waisted which does make then appear quite long at first. The design of these is really simple. It has turned over hems at the bottom which are stitched up but have buttons on each side for detail. I think this is quite cute and it gives you the option to the turn up the hems another turn if you wanted these a little shorter which sometimes I did. On the front there are 8 buttons 4 on each side and all of these undo which folds down as a front flap and this is how you get into them as it doesn't have a zip. I just undid 3 buttons on one side and this was enough for me to get in and out of the with ease.
When I had these on they fit comfortably on my waist and they fit lovely and smooth around my curves. They seem quite long but when they are actually on they come to the normal thigh length that shorts come to so these aren't overly long or short. These are made out of a thin stretchy denim material. I like this because it means that they are lightweight so great to wear on a hot day. Because they are stretchy is means you have a bit of a margin between sizes if it doesn't quite fit you it'll stretch a little. It also means that after each wash these stretch back into place.
These start in a size 4 and will go up to I think a size 16 maybe another couple of sizes above as well. At the time of buying these I was a size 8 which I bought these, when I put weight on I went up to a size 10 and I was still able to fit into these still which was delightful. These are suitable to be washed on a normal washing machine wash without the colours running, it shrinking or going out of shape. After a while though the label in the back did fade but that never bothered me, I don't wear these anymore but I'll dig them out one day.
Being of a skinny build I don't have the curves I wish I had so wearing these helps add some curves. I bought these for £25 which is fairly decent considering I wear them so much. They are really useful in making your bum look bigger
The design is really cute, the buttons make it look quite punky.
The material is strong and the hems are correctly sewn together, (unlike clothes bought in other shops were the hem comes off and they fall apart)
You can wear these with most things and you can wear them all year long.
Mine have lasted me a good year and a half.
You have to try a lot of sizes on to get them, I am a size 6 but need a size because top-shop's sizes tend to be smaller.
They do have a bit of a habit of giving you a wedgie.
I find these way to short to go without tights because they tend to leave your bum hang out a bit to much for me.
