Denim shirts have never really appealed to me as in my opinion they can look very manly.

As many people will know though, denim shirts are back in fashion at the minute so being the sheep I am I decided to buy one, seeing as I like to keep up with the latest styles. I was going to buy a vintage levi jacket but came across this bleached shirt while browsing Topshop's website and really liked the look of it as due to the collar detailing it's not as generic as a levi jacket would be and it is a little more girly, too.

This is a bleached long sleeved lightweight jacket which is designed to look like denim. It has seven plastic buttons down the front of it and a button up collar. It has stitch detailing to make it look that bit more authentic as well as two pockets on either side of it on the chest area. The collar is the main focus and it has pink rhinestones all over it, which doesn't look as tacky as it sounds! The jacket has button up sleeves, which I like as the buttons on the back of the sleeves add a little detail.

The jacket isn't quite as long as I had expected it to be (I ordered it online) and it comes just past my bum. I got this jacket in a size twelve as I wanted it to be very oversized. It looks nice worn oversized as it looks very casual and 'care free'. I wear this unbuttoned layered over a tee shirt or vest but I don't think it looks right with the buttons done up - just my opinion though. It is quite a versatile top and easy to just sling on for day to day wear. It's quite lightweight but keeps me warm which is handy for chilly summer evenings and it's a nice change from a cardigan or leather jacket.

It doesn't look silly in when worn in the summer due to the light colour. In the winter I'll be layering this under a leather jacket as this looks really nice in my opinion. The jacket is made of 98 percent cotton and 2 percent elastane and it's nice and soft and comfortable. It washes well and it is available in sizes 6-16. At £34.00 this isn't cheap but as it's so versatile, fashionable and comfortable it's worth investing in. Overall, recommended.
