“ Brand: Next / Type: Boys Shirt / Ages: 5 years – 16 years „
Harry seems to be having a growth spurt at the moment and I've been trying to keep up with the amount of clothes that I've had to send to charity shops as he's outgrown them. My mum has got him a few things that I couldn't usually afford, such as character t-shirts, something I don't usually get him but that Harry absolutely loves, and one such present he received from her is this Top Gear t-shirt from Next. Every 6 months, Next bring out a new Top Gear t-shirt and so far Harry has had them all but this one has proven to be his favourite by far! The t-shirt is available in the current spring/summer 2011 catalogue by Next Directory, in sizes from age 5 through to 16 years, and the price ranges from £9 to £14, depending on which size you have to buy. Harry is in the age 5 top which is just right for him, and he turns 5 in March this year. It is a gorgeous bright turquoise colour as you can see in the image above and is made from 100% cotton. As with all Next products, it's really high quality, and the transfers across the front of the t-shirt are all very good quality, and having washed this around 10 times already, it isn't fading or peeling at all which is very impressive. As per the care instructions, do ensure you iron it on the reverse of the t-shirt otherwise the transfer will get smudged and ruined by the heat, but as long as you take care of it, it'll last a long time. The t-shirt is ideal for the summer because of the lovely bright colour of the material, and the imagery of The Stig makes it a bit more fun for its wearer. There are also some of Jeremy Clarkson's famous saying about The Stig such as "(Some Say) he has a digital face" and "he can melt concrete on contact". Of course they are utterly ridiculous but very funny, even to Harry who always laughs when I read them out! The black Top Gear wording at the top really stands out from the turquoise colour of the t-shirt, as does the white Stig transfer. Harry really loves wearing this t-shirt, and considering the amount of times he has worn it and it's been washed already, it still looks very new and in perfect quality, which sort of goes to prove you get what you pay for. Yes, this top is expensive at £9 (for Harry's size anyhow) but the quality is brilliant, the colour is lovely and bright, and you always have to pay a bit more for character licensed clothing anyway so I do not think this is poor value for money by any means. I am really pleased my mum bought this for Harry as I probably wouldn't have but already it's his favourite thing to wear, even being chosen for the school disco! It's a great top for any little Top Gear fan, and definitely comes recommended by Harry and I!
