Umbro

Compared to other brands of sportswear like Adidas, Nike and Reebok to name the obvious i don't think Umbro can really compete. Umbro has never really hit the heights in popularity. Although everyone's heard of it and most wear some of Umbro's clothes it hasn't a lot of recognition. I'm not a great lover of Umbro. It's not that i follow the label on the clothes it's just that Umbro doesn't really appeal to me. This opinion is being placed in the umbo section simply because Manchester United are cuurently using Umbro to manufacture its replica kits. However, all other big sporting manufacturers like nike, reebok and adidas are equally at fault. Isn't it about time that familes were stopped being ripped off for football gear? I like Umbro, even thought I was initially sceptical. My first purchase was a pair of suede trainers bought in a sale in a big chain for £20, and that was nearly 3 years ago, and they are still worn regularly now. Actually they are on my feet now! They are comfortable, haven't aged that much and still look good all this time later. The best bit is they only cost me £20, and there is no better value for money than the use that I have had. I'm sure a happy Mum is not what the marketing people at Umbro have as their main aim, but Umbro teeshirts and shorts/track bottoms that are 100% Polyester are a Mums dream.The fact they can be worn, washed need a little drying and _no_ ironing is a serious bonus! They don't fade and the kids love them. At a mere £4 for a pair of Umbro shorts for a 6 - 8 yr old, in any colour from lime green to white or navy (suitable for school pe kits too) you can't go wrong.The track bottoms from £5 in loads of different colours and styles too. When I found that my daughters PE kit had to include Umbro shorts, my first thought was why are they so hung up on lables. It's bad enough that all the kids want Nike trainers. 2 years of washing later I'm eating my words. They wash well. The colour has not faded and all the stitching and elastic is intact. As we pass down clothes in our family, we should get a lot more wear out of them yet. I was previously buying a cheep pair every year, for each child.
