This opinion is being placed in the umbo section simply because Manchester United are cuurently using Umbro to manufacture its replica kits. I like Umbro, even thought I was initially sceptical. My first purchase was a pair of suede trainers bought in a sale in a big chain for £20, and that was nearly 3 years ago, and they are still worn regularly now. Actually they are on my feet now! Compared to other brands of sportswear like Adidas, Nike and Reebok to name the obvious i don't think Umbro can really compete. Umbro has never really hit the heights in popularity. When I found that my daughters PE kit had to include Umbro shorts, my first thought was why are they so hung up on lables. Umbro make kits for alot of football teams, but its fashion wear never seems to been popular (where i live anyway). i cant really explain why, but they never seem to advertise or anything, that cant help, as they havent built up any sort of image and thats what counts in selling sports wear these days. maybe they are just happy selling football ...
