“ Brand: George / Type. Womesn Sleep Wear „
At the moment Asda are selling a lot of clothes inspired by the upcoming Queens Jubilee. I have resisted buying anything to do with it to be honest, not because I'm anti estalishment but that I just don't really want to take part in it and anything remotely tacky either lol.
However I spotted these in my local Asda store and I simply loved not only the appearance of them but the feel and I do like sleep short sets and after considering it I didn't buy it but was surprised when I came through cash out, my mate had gone through self serve and treated me to these as she has been staying with me on and off for a while now. To say I was really pleased was an understatememt as its nice to get a gift you really want eh?!
These come in sizes 8-10, 12-14, 16-18, 20-22 and 24-26 and are made from 100% cotton and are meant to be suitable for washing (I'll come on to what I 'meant' to be in a minute if I may) and are not suitable for tumble drying though you can iron them if you want to providing that you turn the top inside out due to the large picture on the front of the vest top.
These to me really are really nice looking! Bright red, thick material and very good quality to the touch and they remain lightweight. The top is vest style and with a slightly rounded neck that isn't revealing at all. The vest is a good length and not short even on my 5.7 frame and the back of the top is completely plain in its appearance. The picture on the front of it is that of a large white heart and then it is the colours of the Union Jack however this Union Jack is filled with hearts, lines and pretty little chinksy flowers. The top of the vest is trimmed with red and white spotty straps and along the front and the back of the top this gives a nice trim which matches the slightly elasticated waisted shorts which are not hot pant style but reasonaly loose fittiing.
Wearing these was great and I really liked them and the next day I washed them with no intention of tumble drying them. I hung them on my indoor washing line and was pleased they looked as good as new with no fading and/or bobbling and thought nothing of it.
However when they had been dried I folded them to put them away when I noticed the left hand side strap was really badly frayed and destroyed. It looked terriible and the inside of the strap which showed was basically like a see through strip of rubber band like material and like what you get on the inside of some clothes to hang them with! Disgusted my mate took them back and did get a credit note (as we didn't keep the receipt) and I chose something else not willing to buy them again as I was really dissapoiinted with the quality of them.
Such a shame as these are a really nice looking and feelling set and I was really pleased with them but I know I popped these on a 30c that wasn't full and that they got damaged far too easily.
Can't recommend them sadly, may be ok to buy yourself but I wouldn't gift them to anyone after what happened to my pair as they showed really bad quality!
Only available from Asda and Asda.com for £5.00 a pair
