Advantages: Great jeans

Disadvantages: Shops a but too cramped, accessories pricey

Warehouse has been popular with me on and off over the years. I bought my first item when I was 15 or 16 (a coat for school) and have shopped there occasionally ever since. Now I am not going to lie - as much as I like the shop it is not even close to being my first port of call when I need something to wear but when I do have a look in I nearly always come out having bought something.

You will have no difficulty finding a shop near you. In both the Metrocentre (Gateshead) and the Trafford Centre there is more than one...The Metrocentre actually has 3 Warehouses (one stand alone, one in Debenhams and one in House of Fraser).

I have always found the staff to be very polite and hepful especially if you need a different size while you are in the changing rooms.

The clothes are a very nice quality. Prices in general tend to be more expensive than River Island (not hugely though, and with the exception of jeans which seem to be cheaper) but it is still very much a high street store, probably on a par with Oasis.

The stand alone shops tend to be laid out well but are always a bit too crammed with clothes. It is not a huge problem until you try to negotiate a store with a pram and then you realise how closely together they do pack the rails. They sell nice smart and casual wear although their work wear is pretty thin on the ground and their two piece suits are not anything particularly good - Principles and Next are much better for these.

I find their accessories to be very overpriced and easily surpassed by places such as Accessorize where you get far more choice in the same price bracket.

My last Warehouse purchase was a couple of months ago and I bought some gorgeous dark denim high-waisted jeans (in the style of Cheryl Cole). I had never bought jeans from Warehouse prior to this but I decided to give them a try. I struggle with jeans as it is as I have really narrow hips (size 6 is often on the roomy side) and I hate the low-waisted hipster styles that fill all the fashionable clothes shops. I tried these on with pretty low expectations and absolutely loved them - they fit nicely (plenty of room but not stupidly big), felt comfortable, looked very flattering and did a lovely job of concealing my mummy-tummy. Best of all because I got them in the Warehouse concession in Debenhams on a Blue Cross Event day, they were on offer for 20% off meaning I paid just £32!!! I have absolutely worn them to death and they are my staple jeans - I think my hubby is sick of the sight of them. They are the comfiest and most flattering jeans I have ever tried, and when I next need new jeans Warehouse will be my FIRST stop not my last one!

In general Warehouse is a decent high street shop and perhaps I should keep this in mind and shop there a bit more frequently myself.

Summary: Good for some things, not for others
