Advantages: good quality and design; nice store layout; all the latest trends; suitable for all age ranges
Disadvantages: Too long & unflattering for me!
There aren't many shops that I have to admit confuse me, they aren't words that I usually pair together, shop and confused, however, when it comes down to Warehouse I am a little baffled. Warehouse is a shop which is priced at the higher end of the high street, along side the likes of Oasis, Giant and Kookai. it was started I believe by jeff Banks of the clothes show fame, along with a few other people. What better advertisement for a store could you want that someone who seems to know what they are talking about. In warehouse you will find casual wear, evening wear, work wear, underwear, beach wear and accessories. Warehouse certainly does keep up with all the latest trends and at present you can find loads of logo t-shirts, denim and slashed items. They also always have a wide range of colours in each item and at times I have bought 3 colours of the same top I liked it so much. However, that fact alone isn't enough to keep me buying items there. I will tell you what I find good about the store and what I don't like just to illustrate how confusing it can be. ~~~What I like about Warehouse~~~ *Store Layout* All the Warehouse stores that I have ever visited, and there have been a fair few, have always been very well spaced out with attractive decor. I hate the kind of shops where you trip over things and there are rails and rails of clothes everywhere, it doesn't make for good shopping. *The Quality* Warehouse clothing is of pretty good quality. I have bought quite a number of items from here over the years and even ones I still have from nearly 5 years ago are still in one piece and haven't faded in the wash. A lot of the clothing is highly lycra based which helps it retain its appearance and shape. The t-shirts are some of the most worn things I have. From the Warehouse logoed t-shirt through to the recent sloganed t-shirts they are all nice soft cotton. They often use luxuri
ous fabrics as well and if you have a wedding or special occasion to go to I advise paying them a visit. *It keeps with the latest trends* Warehouse manages to retain its quality whilst providing the latest trends on the catwalk. Colour is one of Warehouse's strengths, especially bright colours which they seem to love. *They cater for all age ranges* I am in my 20's, yet my mum is in her 40's and she also really likes the clothes that Warehouse has to offer. Whereas I look at Topshop and cringe at times at how young and often tacky they look Warehouse seems to make clothes that look nice and appeal to a wide age range. They have all the modern pieces, yet with a lot of tailoring and more classic pieces. ~~~Things I don't like about Warehouse~~~ *The Lengths of clothing* I am 5ft5, so the average size of a UK women, however, even the regular length clothing in Warehouse is too long. Trousers need to be altered and their skirts and dresses always bury me. The lengths are just really unflattering and skirts that I suspect were meant for the knee are half way down my leg. In my experience my taller friends seem to like Warehouse most of all as they seem to cater for women of supermodel stature primarily. *Prices* I shop a great deal in places like Oasis and I know you have to pay that little bit more for the quality, however, sometimes I do wonder who priced the goods in Warehouse. Some items are just way too expensive and I always resort to buying them in the sales when they are "normal" price! *X factor* Ok, I know that the X factor is somewhat unclear. However, you know that feeling you get when you walk into a store and you just like the place, you like the clothes, you get excited about the fact that they may have new items in, well I never get that here. I can go for months without finding anything I like and then I will find lots of
things in one trip. On most occasions I will leave empty handed, the same cannot be said for oasis. ~~~~~My concluding thoughts~~~~~~ As I hoped to demonstrate I find it very hard to say whether I really like Warehouse or not. There are some things that I really like and appreciate such as the quality and then there are things that I really hate. I can't find things often enough to say that I am a regular shopper there. I guess my feelings about Warehouse can only be described as mixed. Always worth a look, but not a sure thing for something to buy.

- 24/05/02 I find the trousers are ok when I buy them and then they shrink in the wash and are too short!
I agree about the snotty sales assistants. I once asked one if they did student discount and she told me they didn't because they didn't want to attract that kind of clientele! Never mind in a few years, I'll be earning more than you ever will darlin'!! |

- 12/04/01 They are a bit pricey though the sales can be good, though the shop assistants always seem to turn their noses up at you. Don't have a problem with the trousers though they are just the right length and I'm 5'4" |
