Advantages: Made to feel so special and a great excuse for dressing up

Disadvantages: Some assistants can be very pushy and after the sale even if dress does not suit you.

Shopping for your wedding dress is one of the biggest days other than the wedding day itself. I found I had alot of expectations before I went which is not necessarily a positive thing. A great excuse for a girly day with as many or as few people as you wish.

Make sure that you wear good underwear - if you think strapless is the way you want to go with your dress wear a strapless bra. It may not be the perfect bra for your dress but the assistants will advise on this when you find your dress.

I found that I got a feel for the shops and assistants before trying dresses on. Most make you feel like the only bride out there and do not rush or pressure you into anything - others are the opposite but try not to let them get to you.

I went in very closed mind about what I wanted - big mistake. When I tried what I wanted on and it looked awful I could have cried and thought I would never find my perfect dress.

When they bought out the dress I went on to buy I thought it was awful but when I put it on I felt totally different and I felt like a bride. I just new it was 'THE' dress. My mum cried, I cried and people were commenting on me around the shop. I new that if I felt this special in a shop sample how would i feel in my own dress on my wedding day.

Most of all enjoy trying the dresses on and visit as many as you can although once you find one that you love stop looking as I guarentee otherwise you will be so confused or worse you buy your dream dress only to have second thoughts.
