Advantages: Stays put, comfortable, great shape
Disadvantages: A bit pricey
I am a big chested woman, so I always struggle to find strapless bras. You know the problems, finding one that fits, finding one that gives a good shape, finding one that stays up, finding one that is padded etc...
My dad's wedding was May this year and I had the most beautiful pink halterneck dress to wear. Now if I were smaller in the chest department, I would have gone bra-less, but sadly for me this is never an option. I hunted high and low at the usual haunts (La Senza etc) for a good strapless bra, when I came across an advert for the new ultimate Wonderbra. I don't normally wear wonderbras, but I know and trust the brand.
I came across this wonderbra in Debenhams for £28, which isn't cheap but it is reasonable. It comes in black or nude, and I opted for nude as my dress was pink and I thought black would show through. The advert boasts that the bra is shaped like hands and is very supportive, and it is right. I was actually really surprised at how well the bra fitted. I was expecting to go up or down a size as per some of the reviews I have read, but I was actually my usual size in this bra.
The bra has a rubber 'rim' at the top of the cups to help it stay up. You can't feel it and unlike other bras, it doesn't dig in. It is firm and supportive and importantly, seamless. You can wear it under just about anything. The bra is very well padded - it isn't obvious, but it is well padded and does give fantastic shape even to larger chested women. It is very comfortable to wear, much more comfortable than any other strapless bra I have tried. The back strap is also firm and supportive but not tight or uncomfortable.
I was able to dance, run, jump up and down, pose for photos, lift my toddler etc. all without the bra slipping or moving at all. It was incredibly supportive and comfortable, and I was actually really surpised as I wasn't expecting ANY bra to be supportive when it was strapless. Very pleasantly surprised!
I have worn the bra since, quite a few times under vest tops and even t-shirts. It gives fantastic support and shape, and looks really nice as opposed to thick bra straps being on show all the time!
Pricey but I would definitely recommend it. It is definitely the ultimate strapless!
Summary: Ultimate indeed!
