Advantages: reasonably priced (offers quite frequent), natural looking, easy to use
Disadvantages: none
I haven’t used a fake tanning lotion for years, not since I messed around with my mum’s as a kid and I contemplated getting one last summer, only to chicken out for fear of streaks and unsightly brown patches, plus I thought it would take up too much time. After asking friends to recommend fake tans, I considered trying an expensiev one such as St. Tropez or Lancaster, then I saw in my Avon Brochure, there was an offer on their own fake tan, half price, so I read up on it on dooyoo and decided to give it a go. It cost me £4 on a half price offer, though is normally £8 for 150ml and you have the choice of Medium/Light or Medium/Dark. As I am pretty pale, I chose the Medium/Light. All I wanted to use it for was to stop my legs looking too pasty, when I wore skirts in the summer, just a natural glow. Before using it I had a shower and used an exfoliating body wash (Superdrug Vitamin E) on my legs, paying attention to my knees, as I know they can end up patchy and then rubbing in plenty of moisturiser afterwards (Cyclax Cocoa Butter), then I left about 15 minutes for it to be absorbed. I put on a pair of shorts and planned to go do some cleaning in the kitchen, so I would be moving around and not sitting. The lotion had a slight smell, not pleasant or unpleasant really and went on really easily and I could really where I had used it. I tried to apply it all in the same direction, it took me about 5 to 10 minutes for both legs. I washed my hands after each leg, but there wasn’t any colour on them and there has been no staining. I got on with my day and as my house hasn’t got very good lighting, I wasn’t sure if I noticed a difference, but when I took the socks off I was wearing a couple of hours later, I could see the difference, between my feet and my legs, that my legs looked slightly bronzed and not at all fake. Of course I realised then, I had better put s
ome on the tops of my feet, as it looked a bit silly. I did this and it blended in seamlessly. I have to say I am really impressed, it is just what I was looking for and I would definitely use it on other parts of my body, which I wanted to give a natural bronzed glow to. I got it from the Avon website www.avonuk.com and would recommend it for a natural sunkissed look.
