Advantages: LARGE MEMORY, BUILT IN SCANNER, EASY TO INSTALL
Disadvantages: COST, DOESNT PRINT THAT FAST
I use a fax machine everyday in my job, I'm always faxing internal and external customers various literature and information.
We did have a very old fax when i started her last in august 2003, it was very slow indeed, the pages went through about 1 every 30 seconds at times, and the paper used was the horrible fax rolls type, which got jammed up inside it every now and again, which is very annoying.
So after a bit of moaning and groaning, and abit of pressure, we finally got a new fax machine, and this is what we got.
The installation was so easy, plug in the mains power, then plug in the phone line, away we go, easy peasy, Obviously installation would be abit more difficult without mains power or a phone line already installed, but we didn't have this problem.
Upon powering it up, we needed to put in some A4 paper into the feeder tray, and we needed to input our fax number into it, so people at the other end, knew the who was faxing them incase they wanted to fax us back.
So really that's the installation side done, as i said very easy, the manual is just as easy to follow, with step by step guides on how to scroll through the various menus.
You can use this for any of the following four uses, faxing, copying, scanning or just as a straight forward printer.
Its very fast when it comes to faxing, and its also very easy, just type in the number required to dial, put the paper into the top of the fax and then press start, how easy (even a monkey can do it).
The paper then whizzes through, and all the information goes into the memory and is stored while its faxing, it states that you can feed in 30 pages via the feeder, but I've regularly fed in 40+ pages using this tray.
It has a 500 page memory, so there's no hanging about, you can feed many faxes in at once, and just leave it to send them for you, I've fed in 300 pages via a few faxes at o
nce, i only managed to get the memory down to 47% so far, and some of the faxes were very detailed.
At the end of the fax transmission, you will get a fax report, this will automatically print off at the end of transmission, it states the number of pages sent, time and date sent, a copy of the 1st page sent, and the resolution, it will either say "OK" which means sent, "BUSY" which as it says the number dialled is busy.
I find this a joy to use, modern technology has come along way since commication via smoke signals, horse mounted post people and carrier pigeon, this fax is very fast, but i do find the printer alittle slow at times as it only prints off 14 black and white pages per minute, although i dont use this to print very often as we have a designated printer for this purpose.
This printer/fax/copier is quite expensive at £409.99p in pc world, but i guess you get what you pay for really, you can shop around and get it cheaper elsewhere i would guess, or if you didn't want to spend this sort of money, a second hand model would save you even more money.

No problems here at all, clear and well defined printing whether it be straight forward reports, using bold text or pictures.
I haven't used this in colour, so i couldn't comment as to this section, but if everything else is anything to go by, I'm sure this is also good quality.
We've now had this product 6 months, and not a thing has gone wrong with it, if anything does i will update this review accordingly.
VALUE FOR MONEY.
br>I do think that this product is maybe alittle over priced, if you didn't want some of the features, such as the scanning, then this would lower the price.
The company i work for have a deal with the supplier, so they didn't pay full price anyway, as they buy this sort of thing in bulk and get discount.
I'm sure you could get a similar product, for half the price, if you wanted a lower quality product also, but as i said earlier in the review, you get what you pay for.
