Received documents are printed on plain paper, which means they are flat, clean and easy to read, write upon, retransmit and store. This eliminates photocopying and saves paper, time and money. In the event of faulty transmission the Fax-L300 automatically retransmits your document only from the page on which the error occurred. The unique Error Correction Mode (ECM) detects and corrects transmission faults due to phone line interference. Canon's revolutionary Surface Rapid Fusing (SURF) technology provides economy in time and money. Warm-up time is eliminated and just 7 watts of power is consumed in standby mode; the Fax-L300 shuts down automatically when not in operation ensuring further savings. The Fax-L300's 14, 400 bps modem gives a transmission speed of 6 seconds per page. It also provides simultaneous faxing and scanning at 6 seconds per page and a printing speed of 4 pages per minute.

The Fax-L300 incorporates a standard 42-page memory, which can simply be enlarged to 138 pages. Full Dual Access allows incoming documents to be received into memory or stored during scanning. Delayed or Sequential Broadcasting gives the option of sending outgoing documents to 121 destinations. Canon's Ultra High Quality VI digital image processing ensures perfect transmission of photos, graphics or text in halftone gradations of 64 shades of gray plus Automatic Edge Enhancement. The Fax-L300 employs Canon's FX-3 cartridge. Easy to replace and long-lasting, the FX-3 contains all the elements that may wear out or affect print quality super-fine toner, drum and developing unit; giving a new machine with every cartridge. The perfect machine for a busy office environment, the Fax-L300 features an accessible, front-loading 250-sheet paper cassette; a 30-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and a collating function to sort received messages in the correct order.
