HPOfficejet G85 - Positive opinion - Advantages: Scanner, Printer, Copier and Fax machine in one, loads of options, on printing, zooming etc., Faxes pages very easily, you can fax lots of pages in one go. - Disadvantages: Only a Serial Port, Little outdated, has loads of bugs in printing

The only reason I know about this piece of equipment is because we used it at work, and yes it did do an awful lot of work. SETTING UP --Software First or Connect First?-- My first piece of advice is to read the instructions ? do not do what we did at work and plug the printer in, let windows find it as a new device, finding the drivers on the cdrom and hope it works ? it wont. I am a qualified printer service engineer and use my G85 every day. The G85 works brilliantly as a copier with 3 levels of quality available on the keyboard: fast, normal and best, I use fast for the internal copying, normal, for copies that I need to send out and best for copying photographs which it does with incredible colour accuracy, the copies are good enough to be framed. It also has a flat-bed for 3d objects etc. The fax side of the machine works equally as well, the document feeder is simple to use and the desktop software works as a great paper saving device in my word processing and accounts packages allowing you to send direct from the desktop.
