      Taking it easy

We''ve got this printer in one of our offices and to be honest it annoys me and a lot of my work colleagues. The main problem with it is it''s speed - or, to be more concise, it''s lack of a speed. It''s a very slow printer in all senses of the word. It''s slow when printing - especially in colour, but also in black and white - and even when it''s not printing it''s slow - by which I mean once it''s finished printing one page, it likes to take 3 or 4 seconds to regather itself before it makes a start on printing the second page. Me and my work colleagues like to say it''s a lazy printer. When our boss says we''re being lazy, we say "Us being lazy? Look at the printer!" The print quality''s not great, either. Black and white is okay - not great, but okay. The print''s nice and thick but a bit too thick, so that''s liable to smudge. The colour printing''s worse than the black and white - not terrible, but certainly not photo quality, and definitely liable to smudging if you don''t leave it for a few minutes before picking it up. On the upside, there''s a memory card slot so that you can plug your memory card in and print straight off there - the interface is pretty simple to use for this and for other things. And it looks good, too - a bit bulky, but definitely a well-made bit of kit. So for the price I suppose it''s okay - a perfectly acceptable, cheapish printer. But if you''re a fast mover, and are in hurry, you should look at getting a different printer than this one.
