Advantages: Good quality, lots of useful functions.

Disadvantages: You might need to buy a new router to use wirelessly

I recently bought this printer to replace a perfectly good 3 in 1. Why, you may ask, well the big selling point for me was the fact that the printer is wireless. I have both a desktop and laptop, and really liked the idea of being able to print from elsewhere in the house without the hassle of unplugging the desktop and plugging the laptop in. So, the printer arrived, I plugged it in and attempted to connect to the wireless network. No joy. It turns our that it is not enough to simply have a wireless broadband hub - like my orange home hub. What I didn't appreciate was that you actually need a router - which you can buy from any computer store for around £40. Once I had worked this out (after a few hours) it was plain sailing. A new wireless network was created and I actually got a better broadband signal. I can now effortlessly print from around the house.
The printer is very good - both in terms of print quality and speed. It also offers helpful functions, such as the ability to scan text directly into an editable word document. One downside is the annoying american voice announcing 'printing has started', but you can turn this off!

It also offers a quick and intuitive copier function - black and white or colour at the touch of one button. The fax function is very easy to set up - you really just plug in the phone line and go, and instructions on the display walk you through it.

The printer looks very nice - it is white and silver and modern and sleek. It is smaller than my previous HP 3 in 1. It has been hard to assess cartridge life so far - but it seems to be good, I haven't had to replace either yet after four weeks and about 1000 sheets. Lexmark do offer a cartridge recycling service - you send off for a free plastic envelope and then send it back, freepost.

Summary: Good product - but check out what else you'll need to run it on a wireless network

While there is some good information here, there's not enough about the printer (which is also a fax and copier) to help us decided if we should buy it or not.
