As I sit here in my office, next to my trusty Samsung SF 565PR, I wonder what more anyone could want in an all in one.
Is it a fax machine? is it a printer? Nay, it is a wondrous piece of equipment. Printer, Fax machine, Telephone, and Scanner. All rolled in to one quiet, compact, and easy to use device.
The setting up of the machine was a doddle. All I had to do was plug the printer in to the wall, into the USB port of my computer, and Huzzah! windows did the rest for me.
The build quality of this machine is good, I've used a number of printers in my time, and felt like a gust of wind may well come along and destroy the entire machine, but not this one. Many a time have I dropped the receiver, or banged into it. Yet it still serves me well.
It features Toner Save, and Power Save modes which mean that the printer will not stay hot when not in use, saving energy and in turn the planet!
The sound quality on the handset is as good as any office phone that I've used before, so I can't fault it.
Scanning is a one button job, saving directly to a PDF file on your hard drive.
The print quality is very good, quiet, and fast (16ppm). The only downside that I've found is that the cartridges cost £70.
This machine is good for doing broadcast faxes, with enough memory for 100 speed dials, which can also be used to save group settings. One page can be sent to 99 fax machines at the touch of a button. On top of the 100 presets, there are also 20 one touch dials for regular use.
The machine doesn't take batteries, so i'm going to give it top marks for battery life, as well as everything else!
