Asda Smart Price Dressing Strip

Having two very active and boisterous boys in the house means that having a full first aid kit is a necessity. My boys are constantly skidding, running and climbing and inevitably end up with a fair few grazed knees and elbows. Although I prefer to clean them up and leave them open to the air, sometimes plasters are needed. My youngest thinks its fantastic when he gets the honour of a plaster...his little war wound is then showed off to every visitor...boys!!!

Well I used to buy the expensive patterned ones but found that they tended to loss there stickiness very quickly and if your using a plaster to keep a cut clean, it falling off is not ideal. I`ve always liked a bargain and decided to try these, they cost me around 28p for about a meter of stripping, which is about 6cm wide. Fantastic value!!! Well it wasn't long before the first casualty required a plaster on the knee...well I couldn't actually see a `boo-boo` but I was assured that there was one there at that it hurt...lol!

The great thing about stripping as opposed to plasters is that you can cut it to size which makes it a lot more practical and value for money. The strip cuts easily and has the usual plastic labels protecting the sticky fabric that can be removed as needed.

These are fabric plaster which I prefer to wash proof plaster as they tend to stick and stay better. There is as you would expect a small, thin white pad along the centre which is what you place on the wound and then the orangey/red fabric strip is what is used to secure it. The only down side is that the seal isn't all the way around due to you needing to cut it, but this is easily rectified but placing another piece on should it be necessary. They are made of fairly stretchy fabric which is ideal for knees, elbows and fingers.
When I had cause to use them for myself, due to my clumsiness cutting an onion, they worked great, stayed on securely and was absorbent enough for small wounds, which are the two primary jobs of a plaster. I wouldn't say these are for larger wounds but small cuts and grazes and imaginary "boo-boos" it's perfect. This is an ideal addition to any parent's first aid kit.

The strip comes in white box with green writing, which is the asda "no frills" design and to be fair has no impact on the product inside. The value is amazing though!

Overall I found this product to be great value and did exactly what I required it to do effectively. I would definitely recommend.
