Advantages: stay on,well cushioned.
Disadvantages: expensive
With two active boys in the house we often need plasters! I have tried numerous brands over the years and have always found the cheaper ones to be a false economy as they rarely stay put for long!
I am a fan of Boots own brands for many everyday items and have been buying their cushioned plasters for some time now. Boots cushioned plasters come in a green box containing 20 assorted plasters; 16 19mm x 72 mm and 4 30mm x 72 mm. The smaller sized plasters are the idea size for fingers or using on blistered heels. The lager sized plasters are good for cut knees.
The plasters are waterproof, don't contain any latex and are well cushioned. They are white in colour and so will stand out a bit more than the flesh coloured ones.
Before applying a plaster you should first clean any cut with warm running water and apply an antiseptic cream. I really like the thick cushioning that these plasters have as it helps protect the sore area from knocks. These plasters are also flexible so will move with you.
I recently managed to slice my finger whilst chopping vegetables and used one of the finger sized smaller plasters. I was impressed that the plaster stayed in place all day even after a swim! It is recommended that you change plasters every day.
Each plaster is sealed in its own packaging and it can be a bit tricky to remove; especially when you have a cut finger! Overall I think these are the best plasters I have used and will continue to buy them. At £2.29 for a box of 20 plasters, these are not the cheapest on the market, but as far as I am concerned they are worth every penny!
