Advantages: Offers comfort and support to blisters, protects from infection, aides healing process.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
With all new shoes I usually get the odd blister, also I get them from general wear if i decide not to put socks on during a night out. We all get blisters to varying degrees and if the blisters are in an awkward position they can often be very painful to walk on and wear shoes with. The Compeed Blister Plasters answered all my prayers when I began using them and I havn't looked back since. I am now wearing shoes in confidence knowing that if I don happen to get a blister, these handy things will help me out.
The Compeed Blister Plasters cost around the £4-£5 mark for 5 plasters, but if you have a blister that is causing a lot of problems you will soon realise that they are worth the expense. I think they are expensive on the face of it, paying a pound for a single plaster does seem extremely expense, but they are ultimately worth it. The Compeed Blister Plasters are available in places like Boots and Superdrug, also some supermarkets and pharmacies do stock them aswell. The plasters contain a product called artificial elastomer which basically protects the blister from catching due to its foamy consistency. The way the plasters have been designed is all to benefit the sufferer and results in a comfortable experience.
The Compeed Blister Plasters are highly adhesive plasters designed specifically to treat and protect blisters from further rubbing and possible infection. The backing can be peeled off easily and the plaster applied to cover the blister. You can then either leave the plaster on until it comes away on its own, or remove it before bathing or just replace it after a few days. I always clean the area around the blister before appling one of these to minimise infection, and protecting the blister is the key to healing it. Once applied I can often walk much easier and with little pain due to the protection offered. They really do give me a more comfortable experience.
I love the simplicity of the design, as they are designed to act like a bubble and protect the blister from being disturbed when you put your shoes on. Pain is minimised and I can continue with my day without the worry of sore blisters. The price is obviously a negative for this product and I don't think I can avoid knocking a star off for this reason, but they really are worth the expense if you have particularly bad blisters on your toes or heels of your feet.
Summary: Overall they are worth the expense for really angry and awkwardly positioned blisters - a godsend.
