Deep Freeze Pain Relief Spray
Advantages: Easy to use, gets to work fast, good price, long lasting.
Deep heat is a product that I have come to know and trust over the years and I have been using it for quiet a few years now for general aches and pains as well as more specific muscular strains and other injuries. I was browsing the aisle in Boots recently when I came across a can of deep freeze. This is a cold spray that is marketed with the tagline 'freezes pain instantly'. This caught my attention and I paid £3.30 for a 150ml can of this spray.
Deep freeze is the ideal spray for using as soon as you incur an injury or start to get muscle pains. Deep heat is obviously the opposite of this product as it designed for use to warm up muscles when you need to take part in sport or exercise and have an injury, however, I now use both sprays at different times if I have a strain or injury that I want to reduce the pain of, or clear the pain completely (I'm always hopeful!).
When you take part in sports or exercise it is recommended that you put ice on any injuries as soon as possible. If you are able to do this within minutes of incurring your injury then this could see a huge change in the recovery time from your injury. If you have a bad muscle injury then the difference in recovery time could see you back to your favourite activities weeks before you might normally get back to them. Effectively this deep freeze can act as an ice pack and save you having to rush about finding a freezer or someone with an ice pack, or even waiting for one to freeze up! Also, you can carry this in your sports bag with you and not have to worry about being without ice for any injuries you might pick up during your sports activities.
Basically, I use this when I have been at the gym or if I have been out jogging. Should I not warm up properly, which happens sometimes, and suffer an ache or pain either in my wrist or knee then I use this deep freeze spray straight away and the relief that I feel allows me to walk home carrying my gym bags without worrying about the pain or feeling uncomfortable.
The style of this packaging is nothing special. This is a grey can with a blue lid and blue detailing on it too. The packaging certainly looks cool and does look like it contains a product that is cool inside too. The lid is simple to remove and it is a spray nozzle that just needs to be pressed to release the cool spray within. You should hold this 15cm from the area that requires spraying and then give 2 or 3 press on to the nozzle to release 2 or 3 short bursts. I actually tend to just do one long spray and I find that this still works great despite me not following the instructions properly.
If I have incurred an injury then I use this and then rest for a few days before I test the water by seeing if I can go on the treadmill, for a jog or back on the rowing machine again at the gym. If you were to use this to numb and area and then continue with your sport or exercise then you could cause irreversible damage by not being aware of any further injuries due to the numbness from this spray. I ALWAYS rest because I go to the gym regularly and like to listen to my body when it needs a rest.
I find this spray fantastic. It does numb any painful areas within just a few seconds. The spray goes a long way with only a little required to experience the numbness needed. It works well at freezing my pain and once it starts to wear off, usually a couple of hours, I find that I have rested enough for the bulk of the pain to have worn off anyway.
If you are someone who works out regularly or takes part in energetic sports then this is definitely a spray for you! It will combat your pain in seconds and is long lasting all for a reasonable price. I have been using mine for a few months now quite regularly and it is still going!
Summary: A fantastic freeze spray.
