I bought the gel after reading about moist wound healing. I have a sore area on my leg that is not healing well, as it keeps forming a papery scab that falls off easily. I hoped that the gel would help heal up the injury effectively. There is an instruction sheet with the gel that explains that it should be applied quite thickly to th...more

Savlon Advanced Healing Gel: Doesn't Quite Hit The Spot.... (581 words)

Savlon is a familiar household brand and most people will, at some point have bought a tube of the original cream to rub on their cuts and grazes. Recently my other half had a small accident and ended up with large cuts/scratches on his forearms. I purchased this in the hope that they would heal more quickly and not scar. The product is immediately identifiable as belonging to the Savlon range, as it comes in the distinctive blue coloured tube with white lettering. However the words "Advanced Healing' are quite prominent, which makes this product easily distinguishable. It seems a bit silly to admit this now but when I first squeezed the product out, I was surprised to see that it was a gel and not a cream. Obviously there is a rather large clue in the product name, but I hadn't really ...  Read the complete review
