Advantages: easy to apply, works well
Disadvantages: a child could use it so keep away from children!
This is one of those necessary products that my mum kept in her first aid kit, and I have grown to love it for myself! It always does a great job at cleaning up and disinfecting nasty scrapes and grazes, and never seems stingy or painful.
The way you use it depends on what you're dealing with. If it's a teeny graze or scrape that seems very clean, a spray or two will ensure that it doesn't get infected. If you're dealing with a big muddy scrape then you spray vigorously at any dirt caught in the wound in order to wash it out, cleaning the wound up quite effectively. It doesn't smell strongly or sting either. The downside of it is if you want to plaster up, it does take a minute or two for the spray to dry.
It comes in a bottle which is small enough to fit in a standard first-aid bag, handbag or glove compartment, but large enough to last you a while. The transparency also means you can easily see how much you have left. The spray is very easy to use - so it has to be kept out of reach of children - but this means that it's easy to apply even if you're right handed and that's where your scrape is.
Summary: Easy to apply and cleans wounds really well without stinging
