      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Should be fine for cleaning injection sites, but too small for cleaning.

      ===Motivation===
      As I mentioned in my previous review, about a year ago I switched from the pill to a natural form of birth control called Sympto-Thermal Method or Fertility Awareness Method. One aspect of this method is charting my basal body temperature every morning, which obviously means I need to clean my thermometer every day. The leaflet in one of my thermometers recommended using 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. I find the easiest way to do this is with individually wrapped alcohol swabs (often called pre-injection swabs in this country). This review will focus on the Sterets skin cleansing swab.

      ===Look, Feel & Smell===
      These 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Swabs come in a small cardboard box containing 100 individually wrapped swabs. Each white packet with red, green, and black lettering measures 5.1cm x 4.8cm and is foil lined to ensure the wipe stays moist. They are easy to rip open but unlike the Uhs wipes, I accidentally ripped these Sterets wipes on a number of occasions when opening the packet. The biggest difference between these wipes and other brands I have used is the size. They measure only 3.1cm x 2.7 and are much ticker and stiffer. Although these wipes carry a definite alcohol scent they don't smell nearly as bad as the Uhs ones.

      ===Uses==
      As the name pre-injection swab suggests, these wipes can be used to clean skin prior to an injection. Unlike other pre-injection swabs I wouldn't recommend them for cleaning small objects due to their tiny size and stiff texture. I found it much harder to clean my thermometer with these wipes because they were hard to grasp and didn't want to bend around the thermometer very well.

      ===Price & Availability===
      A box of 100 Sterets swabs is currently available on Amazon for £3.31 + £1.69 shipping (which is a fair deal more than I paid back in September). They are also listed for slightly less on a number of medical supply websites, but then shipping tends to be more if you aren't placing a large order.

      ===Conclusion===
      I imagine these would work just fine to use prior to an injection and they don't smell as bad as many other brands, but I won't be ordering them again because the tiny size makes them difficult to use for cleaning my thermometer. I would give them just 2 stars for cleaning purposes, but I've given them 3 since they would be fine for their primary purpose.
