Tesco Kids Monkey Plasters
Advantages: Cute looking plasters
Disadvantages: Not very big and not much size variety
I always keep plasters in the cupboard, I tend to have a stock of various sorts waterproof, breathable and those cut to size strips. The ones my daughter wanted this time were these Tesco monkey ones. At 80p for 30 not a fortune but dearer than the ones I normally buy from Home Bargains.
The box is good quality in green with a picture of a monkey on the front. It tells us that these are childrens plasters and are water resistant, breathable and low allergy.
Individually wrapped the sticky bit is clear with little pictures of monkeys on- they look really cute. The pack contains thirty assorted plastic not fabric plasters. To be honest there's not much variety they come mostly in small which are about an inch long with a tiny pad. The larger ones aren't much bigger maybe two and a half inches long again the pad is small. The plaster quality is good they don't rip when you tear them open.
Ideal for small cuts and blisters but no good for grazes or knife gashes. Hence my stock of strip plasters.
My daughter uses these mainly. She often has small blisters on her feet from her shoes rubbing. These plasters are okay for this although the padding seems thin it's adequate. When applied the plasters are sticky enough and they stay in place, although waterproof they aren't soak proof and will peel off in the shower.
My daughter has sore skin on her thumbs were she picks at them again these plasters are adequate for the job but again do tend to get wet in water.
I myself rarely need a plaster except on the occasions when I've sliced my finger whist chopping, these absorb the blood containing it inside the plaster. They stay on long enough to get on with what I'm doing but not when washing up- they get wet through.
No one in the house who has worn one of these has suffered from a reaction to them. On removing, the plasters come off without tearing the skin off!
I would recommend them for small cuts but they can't cope with anything bigger than a couple of centimeters or heavily bleeding cuts.
3 stars from me
