Getting a blister is one of life's more pointless things isn't it? Some people bemoan them and complain how they hurt them when they walk, but getting a blister can actually be a godsend. You can bunk off work and chores around the house and then there is the satisfaction of playing with said blister when you are quietly on you own in your bedroom late at night.

Tesco's Sterile Blister Plasters are in packs of six, so they assume your blister will be cured within six plasters. The last time I had blisters was a year or so ago after some very painful treatment for a verruca on the foot. I was blasted at minus one hundred and sixty degrees by liquid nitrogen. Absolute agony, resulting in an almighty blister within three days. I resorted to these things to take some of the sting out of the pain and luckily they soothed the ailments rather well.

The plasters are quite thin and stick neatly with good suction over desired area and hold well while offering a cushioned support. The sterile plasters also help prevent infection and keep that blister supported and protected. I found that they took the pressure off walking and my limping turned more into a slight dragging of the heels! Okay, they don't totally eliminate pain but they do take some of the burden off the blister.

The plasters do hold up well in water for about two days then you probably need to replace them because they start to fray a little at the sides. I am not sure they helped me recover quicker, but they certainly offered comfort and protection and for the price tag of one pound fifty, this was worth it. Useful to have in a cupboard and I am sure at some point they will need to be used again for when we start our winter walks.

Summary: reliable plasters
