My eczema is quite bad at the minute and I have several ugly patches of it on my wrists and ankles.

I usually use adhesive dressings whenever my eczema flares up but because I've been moisturising several times a day it's a bit awkward as the adhesive doesn't stick to my skin. I spotted these bandages in Tesco a couple of days ago and bought two of them as at just 28 pence each they seemed like brilliant value and a much cheaper alternative to adhesive dressings.

The bandages come rolled up in a plastic packet which is easy to open. The packet is easy to open and the branding while minimalistic isn't too ugly or cheap looking. The bandage itself is white. It is made from a soft, thin cotton-like material and it measures 5cm x 4.5cm which is the perfect size to cover my eczema and large enough but not too bulky.

The bandage stretches easily and I found it easy to put on - I simply wrapped it around my skin and secured it with some bandage tape. Tesco advise that it should be applied to dry skin however I put mine on after I'd moisturised with a thick emollient and it was fine. The bandage felt light and soft against my skin and it isn't at all bulky so I can wear long sleeve tops when I have it on my wrists. I wear one bandage during the day and before bed I change it. I personally do not re-use the bandages and throw them away after one use however if you use them for joint support I don't see why they can't be re-used.

The bandage soaks up any blood, pus and moisture so it keeps my clothes dry and it keeps my sore patches of skin (which are currently resembling open wounds!) clean and protected. As well as this the bandages mean that I am unable to scratch whenever my skin is itchy so my skin will heal a lot quicker. Overall these bandages are just as good as any other and they're very cheap so I recommend them and I will be picking some more up when I am next in Tesco.
