I recently bought a couple of goldfish and when browsing Pets at Home for some ornaments for their tank I came across this bridge ornament. It is an attractive arch shape and is styled to look like it is made out of wooden logs. I really liked the colour of it too so I decided it would be perfect for my fish tank.

The dimensions of the bridge are H 9cm x W 26cm x D 8 cm. My tank is square shaped and I have the bridge in the centre at a diagonal angle which looks really good. More importantly though, my two goldfish seem to love it. They happily swim under it and out the other side but mostly they like to shelter under there and if I sneak in to the room quietly in the morning I will often find them sleeping peacefully underneath. There is plenty of room under there for the both of them. In fact they are both under there right now as I am writing this review!

I also like that the bridge provides a shaded area in the tank which allows them to get out of the light when they feel like it. Some fish tank ornaments are merely decorative and don't allow the fish to interact with them in any way at all but this bridge actually creates a quiet, sheltered area which the fish are able to retreat into which I think is really important. My goldfish are far too big to fit through the gaps between the 'railings' of the bridge but small fish like neon tetras probably would be able to swim through there if they wanted.

The bridge is easy to remove from the tank and I just clean it by rinsing it under the tap and that is all that needs to be done.

As previously mentioned I bought this from Pets at Home. I paid £7.99 for the bridge and it was also part of a three for two mix and match offer on aquarium ornaments which was a good offer. This bridge is currently listed on the Pets at Home website but it is more expensive at £9 and is not part of the offer. I'm not sure if this now applies to in store as well so it may be worth checking before purchasing. However, either way, I think this is a really good buy. It looks great in my tank and the fish really like it so 5 stars!
