      a great little heater

Newatt heaters are made by the same company as the visitherm heaters which are equally as good.

These fish tank heaters have got an alliminum casing inside the outer plastic casing to distribute the heat easier and more efficiently.
There is a reinforced plastic cover on the out side which is great as it stops the heater electricuting you or more importantly your fish if there is something go wrong with it, yes i have accidentally electricuted a fish tank full of black mores with a dodgy heater once so i am always careful now.
This heater automatically switches off if the water level drops too low or you remove it from the water and switches back on when put back into the water, this is ideal if you are using it with turtles or terrapins.
You set the temperature on this heater with a turn dial on the top of the heater which is very clearly marked so you can get a very accurate setting of temperature.

The pet supplier i use has these in 7 different sizes
      25watt is £25
      50watt is £25
      75watt is £28
      100 watt is £28
      150 watt is £28
      200 watt is £30
      250 watt is £30

To work out which sized heater you need a good tip is that a 25 watt heater will heat upto 25 liters of water, A 50 watt heater will heat upto 50 liters of water and so on. Work out how much water your tank holds and you will need a heater of the same wattage.
