I was lucky enough to buy this trainer from my friend for £50 online they will cost you around £150.
Buying my trainer off my friend not only means I had it cheaper but it also meant it came ready made. My friend told me it took 30 minutes to put together and was pretty easy. From looking at the manual you have attach the 2 metal parts you can see in the picture to the base. You then connect the control panel and handles and the electric connectors and job done. If you are lucky enough to buy one from ebay it may be helpful to know that I drive a ford focus and it fit in the back easily so it can be transported in a car.
So why did I buy it?
I purchased this from my friend because I had been using a vibration plate, which is what this is, in my local sunbed shop and it was costing me £20 for unlimited use per month so in the long run I thought it would save me money.
Why use vibration plates?
Vibration plates have been the supposed secret of celebrity bodies for years one you will all know who is a fan is Madonna. Obviously Madonna has a more expensive version than mine though. Vibrations plates work by vibrating your muscles working the stretch reflex muscles. They are meant to help improve your muscle strength, your flexibility, increase blood circulation they are also used to ease pain in muscles and help atheletes recover from injurys.
My Vibration plate
Well firstly if you have been on shop or gym ones you will have either have experienced a plate which just vibrates or one which vibrates and rocks from side to side. I have tried both and shop ones are really powerful. Now for £149 you can not expect that much power really can you. This model to use is easy, you first plug it in and switch it on using the power button on the front of the base unit. You then click the power button on on control panel. Choose how long you want to exercise for you have a choice of 30s 60s or 300s you then can choose to have the plate vibrate on one of 9 speeds or you can choose for it to vibrate in 3 automatic modes which mixes up slow and fast shakes.
The machine comes with instruction manual which has 20 exercises in to do. These include squat position, push ups, to name put a few, you hold th eposition as the plate vibrates your muscles. As I said before this machine is not as powerful as the shop machine. However on the shop machine I did not do the exercises as its a bit embarrisng in the back room of a sunbed shop. Having one of my own means I can concentrate on doing the exercises and doing them right. I usually do 1 minute of each stretch so I have a 20 minute workout. Although the plate is less powerful than the shop one I still get the itchy sensation in my muscles after use that I had from using shop one. I assume this is my blood rushing around as circulation improves.
It is said that 10 minutes of vibration training is the equal to 1 hour of resistance training. I am not sure how much of this I believe and I do do cardio as well because although the vibration plate is working my muscles it does not make me physically fitter. From using this plate for a month everyday I have lost a dress size this is combined with cardio in the form of a half hour walk so I am quite pleased with that.
The machine has wheels which means it easy to move out then put back against the wall my case ready to use the next day.
I will give this 4 stars it is not as powerful as the shops but the exercises make it work for me.
