Advantages: Can help tone abs easy to store
Disadvantages: needs motivation reflexology claims a bit dubious I think
This twist board was something I bought in January when I was filled with New Years resolutions to get fit. The reason I choose this board off Amazon was both for the price and I liked the fact that there were some reflexology points on the board as I hope these would also help improve the circulation in my body and help me look fitter and healthier.
The board is a circular shape the size of a large dinner plate with lots of little lumps on the top which are in the shape of feet to help you know where to place them. However what I do notice is that the bumps are a bit large for my size 5 feet and I have to admit has made me wonder how accurate the reflexology claims can be.The purpose of a twist board is to help improve the tone of the abdominal area define the hips and thighs.
They recommend standing on the board and twisting on it each 10 for at least 10 minutes to achieve good results. To do this you must bend your needs and twist to get better results. I find that the board slips if done a wooden floor surface due to its plastic nature however it grips very well to carpet making ideal for me to do in front of the TV when my son has gone to bed.
As with most home exercise equipment a lot of its benefits rely upon your own motivation to do the exercises and this is the area I struggle with as it often easier for me to sit down at the end of the day than stand to do this. However when I have and did make the effort to do this at least 3 times a week at the beginning for about 6 weeks I did notice some difference to my flabby bits and they did seem to be getting more toned, however the results where not as quick or as good as I wished. This meant that my motivation to keep doing this reduced and the board is now gathering dust in the garage with some other exercise equipment. However I will in all likelihood get it back out after I have had our next baby to help me get some shape back when our new addition is having a nap.
Overall
**********
This is a handy piece of equipment that is small enough to be easily stored during the day. I am uncertain about the reflexology claims but I do like the lumps on the board as they help me position my feet correctly. The board can help you achieve some toning to the abdominal area especially I find at the sides however it isn't a quick fix option and definitely takes over a month to see noticeable results. To get better results you do need to continue using it longer which my motivation stopped me from doing. I bought this item from Amazon for around £10 however it is currently out of stock there but is available from other retailers for around the same price.
Summary: A piece of simple to use exercise equipment but it does take time to see results
