Disadvantages: Doesn't hold loads of water
When I saw this in Sports Direct, I thought I'd treat myself to a better quality and better looking water bottle than I already had. This is available to buy in sports shops, department stores and off the internet from a range of websites from specific sports websites to Amazon. It is made by Nike so it's quite popular and widely available since Nike is such a huge, well known brand.
I bought mine for £4.99, the label says RRP £6.99 but it's available for around £5 on most of the websites I have looked on for it. Mine is a very, very bright pink, I'd probably call it a hot pink. It isn't anything like the pale pink one in the picture, this is very vivid and eye-catching. I absolutely love the look of it, the black details stand out against the bright pink and it is a very striking look. I think this is a very good looking water bottle, it looks sporty and sleek. I especially like it in the bright colours like my bright pink one. It's available in a lot of different colours, I have seen red, yellow, black, pale pink, blue, translucent white, orange and lime green. They all have the same black rubber grip and black detail on the cap. I think this looks great against the bright colours, the contrast gives it a striking look.
So, what sets this apart from Poundland water bottles? I'd probably be the first one to say you're just paying for the logo but this really does have some great features. It's very sturdy and you can feel and see the quality of this bottle when you compare it to a cheap water bottle, it seems like it's built to last.
This bottle holds 600ml which I think is probably the right balance between being small and light enough to carry around without it getting in the way, and holding enough water to make it worth using and to stay hydrated.
Also I have owned a few 'sports bottles' which were actually just water bottles, nothing sporty about them. I definitely understand why this is called a sports bottle and I will explain the reasons why it is built for sports and not just to simply hold water. Firstly, the rubber grip means it won't slip out of your hand even if they're sweaty, it also means you're a lot less likely to drop it when you're running, walking etc. If you tip this bottle upside down, no water will spill out, you need to squeeze it gently to drink from it or to squirt any water out. This is very useful because nobody wants to waste their water when they're exercising or out and about. You don't need to take a lid off to drink from this, it has a spout which means you can drink water one handed while you're moving. I think this bottle is designed with exercise in mind. The benefits of this bottle which I mentioned mean that you don't need to stop to mess around with a bottle, it's just very convenient and simple.
The opening of the bottle is quite wide, making it easy to fill with water and easy to clean. The lid is pretty simple, without loads of fiddly parts to clean between which also makes it easier to clean. The plastic doesn't absorb the smells of your drink which is just great! I've had to throw drinks bottles away in the past because of this!
I would recommend this to anyone who drinks water while out of the house really, whether you're someone who works out in the gym or walks the dogs, I think this is really handy and I do think it's worth the extra money if you think it will be useful to you. Also, it is built to last whereas some get damaged or the lid breaks.
Summary: A really useful sports bottle, worth the extra cash
