Advantages: great arms in weeks
Disadvantages: hard to try at first
I had started a new diet and as well as dieting I was looking for some cheap exercise equipment to not only help me to lose weight to also help me tone my body with the cost breaking my bank. I have tried Gyms over the years but after a few months I get bored and find any excuse to avoid going whilst still having to pay the same expensive monthly fee.
So I decided that this time round I would try exercising at times that suit me from the comfort of my own home and purchase some reasonably priced exercise aids. This is when I was looking around I came across the Shake Weight which was being advertised as also being used by Alex Gerrard, who for those that do not know is Steven Gerrard's wife.
The Shake Weight looks a little like a dumbbell it is white and chrome in colour and it is 30cm long and 9cm wide. The Shake Weight at the time was retailing at just under £20, so for the small price tag I thought it was worth a go. On the advert it boasted that the Shake Weight has a dynamic inertia technology that by just using it for a few minutes each day you would get results and that this was a piece of exercise equipment that did not need a battery.
The Shake Weight helps to tone those arms and help get rid of those unwanted bingo wings, it works as the motion of the exercise increases the activity of the upper muscles by up to 300%. The Shake Weight can be held and used in a range of different exercises, it can be held in the air like a dumbbell and in front of your chest vertically or horizontally are to name a few. Each of the different exercises attacks different muscles working various areas in your chest shoulders and arms.
When I started using the Shake Weight a six minute exercise felt like a life time, there is a DVD that comes with the Shake Weight and it tells you exactly what to do step by step, I would recommend that you use the DVD for the first few weeks so that you can make sure that you are doing the exercises correctly, otherwise you could injure yourself or not see results.
I have now been using the Shake Weight every other day for a month and I no longer need to use the DVD and I can see the results my arms are toned and my chest and shoulders are a lot stronger.
This is a far better exercise tool that just using a dumbbell as I use to have pathetic strength in my arms and could not use a dumbbell and now for 6 minutes, I can easily exercise in the morning before going to work. I combine the shake weight with some skipping and cruches for a proper work out.
What's more the Shake Weight is small so it is easy to store away when not in use, unlike a lot of large bulky exercise equipment you can use this anywhere. Overall for £20 this is a worthy investment to any fitness collection, although it may take a few weeks to get used to using it to its full potential.
Summary: get rid of those bingo wings
