I have bought many of these slendertone replacement pads for my slenderone abs system for men, which I recently reviewed. They are an essential part of the full product. The pads are of great quality and work well with the slendertone system to produce electrical nerve stimulation and great abs contractions.
The replacement pads come in a small packet, which contains three pads: one square pad and two oblong pads. The square pad fits centrally onto the abs belt. The oblong pads fit over each side of the belt. On the belt that comes with the slendertone product, there are guidance markings for where to place the pads. These are very useful and identified by waist size on the belt.
The pads fit onto the belt to cover the small round metal parts. These then transmit the electrical nerve stimulation through the pads and to your muscles via input from the system controller attached to the belt. The pads consist of a three layer conductive medium to transfer the stimulation to your nerves and muscles. On appearance, the pads are black on one side (which attaches to the belt). On the other side that sticks to your skin, there is a silver fine chequered pattern from the small metal parts that make up one of the layers. It all looks very technical and they have obviously been produced to a good quality to serve their purpose.
The pads consist of a gel layer, which is sticky and attaches to your skin. This provides some softness and comfort on your skin. They easily stick onto your skin but must be positioned carefully whilst wrapping the belt around your waist, so you don't have to re-position the pads. Initially they feel a little cold and wet once applied due to the gel layer. During use, they are comfortable and do not irritate me at all. The pads come off very easily. You certainly do not get waxed once they come off! In fact it is fairly pain-free as you pull the pads off your skin. Due to their softness and the gel layer, they come off very carefully causing no harm and they do not even take hair off as you release them. One thing to be wary of is that you need to be careful you do not peel them off the toning belt too when you take the belt and pads away from your skin. This is easily done as it is a similar adhesive material that sticks the pads to the belt itself, which is not overly strong. Once taken off, you can apply plastic covers to the exposed sticky parts that were on your skin. This helps to conserve the sticky part to help them last longer, and it is best to apply these plastic covers with care making sure there are not any air bubbles as this worsens their protection.
The retail price for these is £11.99 for a set of pads. You can find them a lot cheaper from genuine dealers on eBay for example, and also on Amazon. This is quite expensive for replacement pads in my opinion. They recommend changing them every 20-30 workouts as once exposed to air, they start to lose their stickiness. If you do 5 workouts a week, this means a set of pads will last you 4-6 weeks, which is not great. Although you can continue to try wearing them, they lose their effectiveness. This is because parts of the pads will simply not stick to your skin, leaving gaps. When not firmly stuck on, the stimulation is actually more painful due to the bad skin contact. Also they fail to work efficiently in contracting the right muscles. Therefore it is best to replace them when they lose their stickiness.
In summary, these replacement pads are required for use with the slendertone abs belt. They are made of great quality materials and transmit the stimulation to your nerves and muscles very well with a good soft and comfortable skin contact. They do not hurt to peel off and take no hair with them. They are quick and easy to apply to the belt and skin during workouts. Although fairly pricey, you do need to replace these fairly often with the belt. I would recommend buying them cheaper on eBay.
I had a Slendertone belt a few years ago and I remember buying these from the Slendertone website for £29.99. Looking back this does seem a little expensive but at the time I had no Wii or Kinect to exercise with.
I had the Slendertone Flex belt which I bought from QVC. A set of these pads came with it but you have to replace the pads every so often as they lose their stick, this is when they need replacing. You simply tear off the old pads and stick on the new ones. Please PLEASE be aware that these pads are EXTREMELY sticky. The pads come in protective packaging that keeps them fresh until you are ready to use them. There are three pads in the pack.
You get one large pad to place in the centre of the belt and you get two smaller pads to place either side of the belt. The pads do the work for you so you can just sit back and relax whilst the pads are doing the work for you. I didn't use the pads every day, it was more like every other day, so the pads lasted me for around two and a half months to three months. They're comfortable to use and they don't leave any residue on your skin after use either.
The pads work with all Slendertone belts and they're easy to use. Plus you don't need any gel as they stick by themselves. I would recommend a Slendertone belt if you're looking for a lazy way to exercise!
If anyone remembers from my previous review, I bought a Slendertone Belt about a year and a half ago. When I am using my Slendertone belt regularly (as recommended), I find that I need to replace the pads on it every 2 months or so.
For those of you who haven't read my Slendertone belt review, I am very pleased with the Slendertone technology. The belt is easily placed on and is painless to use, (though you do feel a weird vibrating tingling sensation). I have found that my belt as gave me great results and that my abs are much more defined than when I do not use the belt.
The pads that I am reviewing are used on the Slendertone Belt and essential if you want to wear and use it. They are made from a gel and are water soluble, I find that when I am placing them on my stomach they are always freezing. The job that these pads carry out is to conduct the electrical pulses into your abs.
These pads are really comfortable to use and when you replace them from a worn out pair, you can definitely feel the difference in electrical pulses that are being passed on through the belt.
In a single pack you get one large square pad that is attached onto the middle conductor on the belt and two oval pads that are attached onto the two side conductors. They are really easy to apply and come with really easy to read instructions. You simply peel back the plastic and stick them down and they stay in place really well.
You know you need to replace your pads when they are not conducting as much electrical pulses into your stomach, they start to feel less sticky and become harder to fit on your stomach when they need changed. I usually change mine every 2 months, though sometimes they hold out a few weeks more.
The replacement pads for Slendertone belts cost £11.99 for a single pack and £19.99 for a packet of two. I like to buy the twin packs, just to save myself a few pounds as I use my Slendertone belt quite regularly. I think that these pads are quite expensive, especially as the belt cost me £90 when I bought it in the first place. But they do give great results and are very easy to use.
These pads are suitable to use with a few different belts including the flex, max, gymbody and toning belts, both male and female.
Overall these are an essential part of using a Slendertone belt, they are a little pricey, but they make the Slendertone belt much more efficient when they are replaced regularly. They are easy to fit and rather comfortable to use, apart from being a little cold when you first attach them. Overall I would give these 4 out of 5 stars.

You may have noticed I mentioned in my review of the Slendertone system (the review is titled Ouch, Ouch, OUCH!!!!) that the gel pads used to stimulate the muscles will need replacing periodically so I thought it would make sense to review these replacement pads, because if you are considering purchasing any ab belt by Slendertone you will find yourself looking for these pads soon enough after buying the unit.
What exactly are these pads?
Well they are basically THE most important thing when it comes to making the Slendertone system work as it's intended to do. The pads themselves are referred to as electrodes (this is dew to the hydro-gel electrodes used within each one) but I think that makes them sound horribly scary like they are from some scene in a horror movie set in a rundown hospital. I simply call them "the muscle stimulation pads" and that's how I will refer to them from this point on. With in these sticky back pads there are three layers of this conductive ingredient to ensure the electrical current is delivered correctly and most importantly to ensure it's delivered safely.
Within the packaging you will find all the relevant paperwork needed to instruct you hake to apply these muscle stimulation pads and also a list of precautions and warnings. Just in case you haven't read my review of the Slendertone System I will repeat that these units and pads are not to be used by persons with an irregular heat beat, underlying cardiovascular conditions, and by any one with a pacemaker fitted. They also should not be used on any broken or inflamed skin, areas that have moles or growths of any kind, or on any scared area of the skin.
As with any new diet or exercise regime please consult your doctor or GP before starting it and in the case of the Slendertone system seek this advise before purchasing. There are three two different sized pads that must be fitted to the belt and three pads in total (The central pad and then two of the side pads one on the right and one on the left). These pads have been put through rigorous testing to ensure their safety. They are come with the CE Mark and are approved as a class 1 electrical device in Europe.
Fitting the pads couldn't be easier just peel of the old pad and discard then peel off the protective backing from the new muscle stimulation pad and place it sticky side down and rub over to ensure a good adhesion to the belt then you are good to go. These pads can be bought in bulk from the Slendertone website, Slendertone.com or in the store or site that you originally purchased the slender tone system. They come in a single set, or you can buy them in a six month set, or even a twelve month set as with most this the more you buy the less you pay.
It's worth adding that these pads work on all Slendertone ab based belts not just the one I reviewed. These will work in the Flex belt, Flex Max belt, System Abs belt, and also the System plus range of belts. When ordering or purchasing do make sure that the pads are for an ab system as there are Face, buttock and arm systems available and you wouldn't want to get them mixed up.
