Much more fun than going to the gym

      WHAT IS IT?

A portable pole dancing pole designed for exercise.

      IS IT ANY GOOD?

The X-Pole is gives an excellent work out, mainly to the upper body but you can also incorporate leg work into your exercise session once you've mastered holding your weight up with the pole.  It is very easy to put together as all you have to do is twist the pole until both pressure pads are tight and snug against the floor and ceiling, it's not heavy and the pole is very well balanced so it doesn't take any special skills to put it together.  It helps to have an area where you can put the pole up and leave it there as it's a bit fiddly and not something I'd want to go through every time I wanted to exercise.

The X-Pole came with a good starter instructional DVD, I only watched it twice as it's quite basic and once you've followed it once you'll know it off by heart and be able to move around the pole with confidence.  I'd recommend buying a more indepth pole dancing instructional DVD though as this will give you a wider selection of routines and encourage you to add moves of your own to make it a personal work out.

A typical pole dancing session will last me for around 45 minutes, a complete beginner will probably want to start at 20 minutes and work their way up as this technique of exercising will make you ache the following day and it would be easy to pull a muscle if you tried doing a work out that was too intense.  My shoulders, upper arms, chest and back ached badly for the first five sessions and then my body realised what was expected of it, twenty three sessions on I never feel in pain but can feel deeply in my muscles that they've been made to work.

The pole is stable as long as it's been put together tightly, my husband checks mine regularly but he says it's holding itself together well.  It never feels loose as I'm dancing and hasn't moved on the floor at all, and the 46mm diameter pole is comfortable against my hands and allows me to get a firm grip.

The Vertical Leisure Ltd X-Pole. Solid, strong, easy to put up/take down transportable and great fun

What a fantastic way to excercise and have fun! I love my Vertical Leisure X-pole. It is a portable dance pole which you can transport and assemble just about anywhere you like as long as it has a solid ceiling and floor.

The X-pole is a professional dance pole which comes in sections that you screw together to create a whole dance pole. There is a base, two main long bits of pole, a pressure pad for the ceiling and then various smaller sized bits of pole which you add to adjust the size of your pole so it fits properly between your floor and ceiling. The pole must be assembled between a solid floor and ceiling, preferably on a joist because the pole relies on pressure to keep itself up. You screw the whole thing together and then you adjust the pressure pad as tightly as you can to the ceiling to stop the pole from going anywhere. I would reccomend that you place a circle of carpet under the base of your X-pole if you are assembling it in a carpeted area otherwise it can leave nasty pressure marks in your carpet as I found out on our old carpet.

The pole comes with all the tools you need to assemble it and smart carrying cases to pack all the parts away in for transportation.

I have been using my X-pole for over a year and I have never had any problems with it. The pole has never fallen down and seems to remain very solid and secure as it is very well made. Every now and again I do like to retighten all the parts on the pole to make sure that nothing has come loose whilst I am dancing.

The X-pole provides an excellent base for exercise and is really fun to use. It is great for people who are perhaps not so motivated by other sports because it is just so much fun that you do not even realise you are exercising. The pole even comes with an instuctional disk to get you started on the first few basic moves. It is always best to have a good stretch before you get started so you do not pull any muscles when you are dancing.

The X-pole itself has a very attractive design in a nice shiny chrome. You can get it in a size of 55mm or 45mm for those who have smaller hands.

I paid roughly £150.00 for my X-pole and I am very pleased with it. I use it several times a week and it is very quick and easy to put up and take down everytime and stores away easily aswell. It is great for beginners and people just wanting a bit of fun but also designed and made to a professional standard so many professionals use these poles aswell.

All in all I would give the X-pole a 10/10. It is really great fun to use and gives you plenty of exercise. The pole is well made and solid and easy to put up, take down and store away. The pole is transportable which is really hand and it looks great aswell!
