I was very lucky to be treated to a weekend trip to a Spa for my birthday. My other half and me had a fantastic time and whilst we loved relaxing and spending time just chilling out, I also enjoyed a couple of goes in the gym! I was explaining to one of the employees at the gym that I struggle to find time as well as money to go to the gym and prefer to exercise at home so asked for some advice. One item that he suggested was doing some skipping, you don't need to spend a fortune on one but when you get one you can really get the heart pumping and muscles stretched and toned. I have got an old skipping rope but the handles have gone a little tatty so I decided to invest in a new one and get into the zone of getting fit again!


After popping into my local town, which is not the world's greatest place for shopping I was limited to getting the skipping rope from a couple of places, Argos or Sports World. It was Argos where I had my original Slipping rope from so I didn't fancy that as it was the Argos branded rope that had gone weak so I opted to look in Sports world and I found a York branded rope for the price of £3.99 which in my opinion was not a bad price so I soon made a purchase and left to have a go!


The skipping rope is nothing fancy, it is what it is but I instantly felt that it had been made with a good quality about it. The skipping rope came in a yellow box I think but this was soon dismissed as I was interested in the rope. The one that I have has handles that are stripy black and white in colour and the rope itself is black. The rope itself has a length of 8ft and I have found this to be just the right amount as I didn't like the idea of it being too short as this wouldn't work but I have had ropes where they just are too long and you end up causing yourself an accident as you spend most of the time trying not to fall over your own feet and getting tangled in the rope but the 8ft felt just the right length to not fall over but get a good clearance over your head as well!


The rope was quite thick and had some sort of covering over it so it was really well put together but it is the handles of the skipping rope that were also of a really good quality, they were made from a soft foam so that not only were they lightweight but you good get an excellent grip on them which really helped, especially when I got into the flow of skipping, I never felt that I was losing grip, even when my hands got a little warm and sweaty. They felt soft and smooth and just fit into your hands really well.


Because the quality was high on this product it did make me use the skipping rope and I have got into quite a regular routine with it so I am now exercising regularly with it and I am sure it had helped contribute to my weight loss. For such a small price I have found a really effective piece of equipment and I hope to be able to continue using it.


This is a definite highly recommended piece of kit and 5 out of 5 from me
