Sandisk Cruzer Fleur 1 GB
I have had this USB memory stick for a while now, it was a Christmas stocking filler present from my dad, at the time I received it I loved it. It was the first USB flash drive that I owned that didn't look like the generic black/grey ones that are so common.
I am certain that ... when my dad initially bought this it cost a lot more, but you can currently buy this for a very reasonable £4.99 from Amazon.
There is definitely a lot going on in the look of this flash drive. It has a pink top to protect the USB connecter and a white body with a pink floral pattern, as well as having a large circular hole at the bottom to enable you to connect this to a key ring, or a neck strap, etc.
I really liked this memory stick and although I don't regularly use it these days, preferring flash drives that have more space, I would still recommend this one. However, I think I liked this so much because my dad gave it to me. I do think that this would make a great first USB flash drive for a younger teenage girl, it is pink, patterned and a bit more fun and funky than most available.
This memory sticks works really well and like most of all of these USB flash drives that I own you don't need any expert IT knowledge to use it, just plug it in, transfer the files that you want, remove it and then off you go with your data in hand. I have also never had any problem with data corrupting or not storing properly, this has always been reliable.
I tend not to buy too many memory sticks that are under 4GB these days, as I am always amazed at how quickly I eat up all that space. However, if you were after a reliable memory stick with only 1GB (although practically there will be less space available to use) of memory then by all means I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
This only gets a three star rating for me. I prefer quite a few of my other memory sticks over this one. Personally, I think that this is more suited to younger teenage girls and I don't often take this with me, I don't mind a bit of pink but this is a very girlie USB memory stick. Sony Micro Vault Tiny 1 GB
by ChewyBacon
This is a brilliant drive for somebody looking for an extremely small and portable storage option. However, you should explore other options if you aren't looking for this. The device is easy to use, compact and colourful, but easy to lose and without a USB cover, the connector can become easily damaged. Also, the device is very ... expensive, compared to other devices on the market.
First, the packaging is very good, with clear text. It also protects the product well, and is very easy to open. The included instructions are simple, and easy to read.
The design is very nice, and attractive. It's also very small and compact, meaning it is the great portable option. It can fit anywhere. However, this means that it is very easy to lose, and the lack of a USB cover means that the USB connector can become easily damaged. Then, the device won't work, and anything contained on the device will be lost forever.
Also, the speeds on the device on very slow compared to other products on the market. This isn't that bad if you are transferring documents, but for bigger files, such as video this isn't a good option. With the 1GB capacity in mind though, it won't fit many video files, so this isn't as important as it would be on bigger drives.
The build quality of the device is very good, with a sturdy device that feels like it will last. With the trusted Sony brand, the hardware will be high quality as well. However, with the small size, it feels like the USB connector could easily snap off, if it was pulled.
The device as the same features as any other drive, but also includes Sony's Virtual Expander program. This compresses files when they are saved to the device, which gives you 4x more memory. However, not all computers and photo machines can read this, meaning that you could be disappointed. The smaller size means that it can also fit any side of the USB connector, meaning no messing about and wasting time as you try to figure how the device plugs in. However, with no support, it is easy for the device to be moved, so it becomes disconnected.
Also, the cost is very high. As it is much higher than other devices on the market, it isn't a good option unless you need the small size, as the device has a small capacity and is slower than similar products.
Overall, the perfect option for somebody looking for the most portable option, but other users should look elsewhere. Read the complete review |

Integral Manchester United Flash Drive 1 GB
by ChewyBacon
This is the perfect option for a Manchester United fan. It looks great, and is the ultimate way to show your love for the club. It also stands out, so it won't be lost. However, it's not the most practical option. This is because it is a drive with small capacity, is very expensive and is also very big, meaning it takes up almost 2 ... USB ports!
First, the packaging is very nice, with a modern design. It's also clear with all the required information with text that is easy to read. Also, it is easy to open, with thin plastic that is easy to cut. However, the instructions inclosed aren't very informative if you don't know how to use the drive.
Next, the design is fantastic. It is the ultimate way to show which team you support. It's bright and colourful, so it will stand out, making it easy to find. Also, since it is unique, it is easy to identify that it is your USB drive, so you won't waste any time trying to find it if you have to let somebody else borrow it, or hand it into a teacher. The drive is also lightweight, making it portable. On the other hand, the drive is very big. It is bigger than most drives. This means that it isn't as portable as other drives, but also means that it takes up more space. In a USB port, it takes up so much space that is uses up 2 USB ports, meaning that it's not ideal if you are short on USB ports, or need to use multiple devices at the same time. For example, I have 2 USB ports, and this means I can't print a document on the memory stick, as the 2 USB devices don't fit.
The build quality isn't good, but it isn't bad either. The device fits together really well, and the plastic isn't too thin. The USB connector is also sturdy, and the device feels like it will last.
The speed is quite good for a 1GB drive. Documents and small files work really well, and transfer quickly, but bigger files, such as video are slow. However, this isn't a problem as this isn't the drive for video files due to the small capacity.
The cost is also expensive compared to other drives. With it being a low quality drive, with the average speeds, build quality and low capacity, it's not the best option. Unless you want the United branding, Sony or Sandisk make better drives.
Overall, the perfect option for United fans with the brilliant design. The build quality isn't that bad, but with the device being so big, and a high price, other options should be explored. Read the complete review |
