I've had loads of memory sticks and flash drives in my time. But one that has never failed me is my Integral products. They have always been fantastic, no matter what size i have ever got. The Integral Splash 1GB is of no difference. I purchased this at my local computer store around 3 months ago for £4.99. I needed just a quick and easy memory stick that I could lend to others and transfer files for use to show on my xbox360 and just to show as a slideshow on a TV.
When un packing the Integral splash, you can see its safely stored in a plastic packaging to keep it safe from being knocked around or any damage being made to the device its self through general movement and bringing it home. There is also, manuals for installation and help manuals with warranty numbers and other information.
The Integral Splash uses a simple plug and play feature to install its self and to use. Simply plug it in and within seconds it will have installed its self and is ready to use, straight out of the packet. It also comes with a protective rubber lid attached to a chain on the bottom of the drive.
The memory stick comes in a variety of different colours including black, blue, yellow, red, green and pink. So there is a big choice of colours to fit anyone's personality or mood. Seeing as the memory stick is quite small measuring at only 11mm x 19mm x 62mm it can easily fit in your pocket for easy carrying or attach to your key ring with the attached chain at the bottom of the drive.
I've transferred various file sizes onto this drive, including video files, mp3 files and JPEG's. The memory stick like all Integral products have 'High speed USB' connections. This drive is no different, using a USB 2.0 connection its very high speed, giving me average transfer rates of 3MB/s to 8MB/s using windows vista, which makes this very fast to use. I've tested this memory stick on 7 and Windows XP Home and it works fine, however i didn't write down the transfer speeds. However they can't be much difference in the speeds on Windows Vista.
Overall I personally love Integral products! I've been using this since purchased and it STILL hasn't had any issues such as lower transfer rates, file corruption and data loss. This a simple no fuss no worry memory stick, that is easily carried around to pull quickly transfer your files and put it away again. Perfect for students and kids in school for their homework and coursework. I highly recommend this memory stick and it's defiantly worth fiver price tag.
The Integral Splash Drive is a great product if you work in damp or wet conditions. I don't think it is fully submersible, it promises only to be splash proof thanks to it's rubber casing, but it's great at being that! I was lucky enough to be given a green one in 1GB form as part of a promo at work, they are available in a variety of bold colours so there is something to suit everyone. With the price of memory falling daily I don't think you'd have too much trouble picking this up for around £6. It is ever so slightly pricier than other models but as I've said previously Integral is a fantastic brand, my favourite for storage media, and with it being splash proof too it's an added feature.
Another great added feature is that both the body and the lid of the USB drive are looped around the same keychain so you can't lose it (obviously you need the lid for it to be waterproof). As a woman with countless lid-less USB drives in my office drawer this is ideal. You can have this USB drive on your keys and not have to worry about rain and snow, hand cream, drink spills and so on. It's very rugged and versatile and I know a number of men who work outdoors who have them on their keyrings too. It really is a very useful gadget and one which I feel will last me a long time. Usage is a doddle just drag and drop and there's no issues with using it on both my office PC and my home Mac. It's sleek, looks good and works fantastically.
If you see this at a decent price and if like me you need a rugged USB drive to have on your keys then I thoroughly recommend the Integral Splash Drive - it's also ideal for teenagers / students and everything they're likely to put it through. My nephew has one and it survived a spin cycle at 30 degrees - not something I'd recommend you try but good to know all the same!!
