Kingston DataTraveler 100 4 GB I have owned and do own quite a few different memory sticks, after being a student for nearly seven years and working in a university they have been something that I couldn't have lived without. Over the years they have became cheaper and it's amazing how much larger memory they are now than when they first started out. I have an ability to lose everything, shoes, bags, keys, etc I spend half my life running around trying to figure out where I last had something. Therefore, I try to make it as easy as possible for myself and this Kingston data traveller helps by not having or requiring a pesky lid. Instead this memory stick uses a slide mechanism to protect the USB stick. One complaint I would have about this memory stick is that it looks generic and I have had on a few occasions had to plug it into a computer to make sure this is mine and not my husbands. Personally, I prefer the memory sticks that come in a variety of colours to make it easier to use each one for something different, I like to be able to grab the one I want quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, if I was being very picky it would have been nice to have been able to attach this to a key ring or strap. However, it is nice and small so it does easily fit in most pockets. This memory sticks works really well and like most of all of these USB flash drives you don't need any expert IT knowledge to use it, just plug it in, transfer the files that you want, remove it and off you go with your data in hand It seems a pretty sturdy device, not that I would recommend testing it in this manner, but I have dropped it, sat on it and stood on it and after all this assault it still works. This has also spent much of its life living at the bottom of my bags and it has never complained about the mistreatment. I have also never had any problem with data corrupting or not storing properly, this has always been reliable. This is currently retailing at Amazon for a very reasonable price of £6.45 which is great for 4GB of portable space. This is easy to use (plug it in and off you go), reliable, and it still works even when it has been heavily used, therefore, I think that this deserves a four of five star rating. It loses a point because it does look generic and I prefer something that stands out.

Overall, it's a good design (especially for the scatterbrains like myself!), it's compact, lightweig

Right, so we all know what a USB memory stick is and what it does, yes? For those who don't, here's the gist: it allows you to transfer/copy files from your computer onto it, you can then carry them around with you and when you plug the memory stick into another computer, hey presto, there are your files, ready for.... well, whatever you need to do with them. Before I got this memory stick, I had always had the ones with a removable cap - not so great as it would get buried under piles of papers, knocked under the desk, or worse still, stolen by the dog! This memory stick is different - it has no cap! There is a sliding switch down one side of the stick which makes the USB connector appear and disappear like magic! Well, not quite magic, but it might fool a toddler for a little while!
