When I saw this little piece, I thought to myself whether this would actually function as an USB stick because it was little.
Aesthetics of this PNY USB stick is quite simplistic with a city image on top of the USB. Beside its city image, it states its storage size, 8GB. I think the city image brings the USB stick quite cartoony style but because of its colour, dark grey and material used, it is more of a business style like USB stick. Not only you can get this in dark grey, but has a selection of different colours ranging from, sunflower yellow, blue, and pink. I have been showing off this PNY USB stick to everyone that I know and they have been commenting how small it is.
The USB stick has a ring at the end which is attached to a clip (string attached). This, I found most convenient since I usually attach my USB stick with my set of keys so that I don't lose it but at the same time, it can be easily detached so that I can only put the USB stick on to my computer or my laptop.
Like I said, I attach my USB stick with my set of keys and with this USB; I found it very portable because of its size and weight. It doesn't interfere when I'm trying to lock my doors and any kind of use.
The size of this PNY USB stick is roughly 3cm by 1cm when closed and 4cm by 1cm when opened. What I really like about with this USB is the twisting out the USB part so that when it is not in use, it is small and compact. To aid with twisting the USB part, the end bit has a circular end. However, this did not aid very well. I have to do it couple of times to get this fully opened and attach it to my computer or my laptop.
PNY USB stick does not require any CD installation and all you need to do is plug and play. However, it may take a minute to recognise the USB storage when using it for the first time.
I have tested the speed in which it transfers file and it roughly takes 50 seconds to transfer 350mb file and around 100 seconds to transfer 700mb file. Usually the computer recognises the estimated time for 700mb file to transfer is 3 minutes.
The storage size of this PNY USB varies from 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB. I chose 8GB because the price was from 10~20pounds and I use it to store lots of Photoshop files and images. 16GB was released not long ago so it was quite expensive.
I find this USB stick extremely compact, stylish, solid and lightweight apart from its circular end which does not aid the twisting out the USB part. I also think this PNY is most suitable for those people who travel quite a lot.
