look for 4 or 8 gig sticks for around the same price, from the same manufacturer

i bought this device about a year ago to ferry files between computers at school and home. another thing that drew me to this product is that it was advertised as being "xbox 360 compatible" but i now realise that every USB stick is USB compatible, and this one is just green and white.

the stick is really small, and has all the features you would expect from a memory stick such as a loop for a necklace etc. one other thing is that the cap is metal rather than plastic on the inside, which makes it a tighter grip. this means it is more secure when hanging from its loop, and you wont lose it.

the speeds on the memory stick are good, and it works with windows vista and 7 using readyboost. i found this feature made very little difference, but the high transfer speeds will be noticed transferring music / films.

overall, i would recommend this stick if you find it cheap, but 1 gig sticks have simply been overtaken in value. the sweet spot has moved in the last couple of years from 1 gig to 4 or 8 gig, and while this is £8, other sandisk sticks are under £10 for 8 gig sticks, and this is much better value. this is a quality memory stick, but technology has moved forward, and it is no longer good value for money.

        A brilliant little device

I have always been amazed by USB flash drives ever since they became available and i have had many types. The Cruzer Crossfire has to be one of the best ones i have had to date and this review will look at how it is so good.

The design of this USB flash drive is perfect for most everyday situations. The design allows the device to be very small and compact. One end of the device has a cap/cover which covers the USB input. This cap/cover cleverly clips onto the USB input by using its own structure to stay in place. The other end of the device has a light which illuminates when it is put into a computer. This light also flashed when files are being transferred from a computer to the device. At the end of the device there is a small hoop which allows you to attach the supplied necklace so you can wear it wherever you go. Overall It is very well designed, made and put together which gives it a good quality feel.

I use my Cruser Crossfire everyday for my college work and transferring files from one computer to the next. I have had no problems with storing any files or losing them while on this device. The flash drive has been 100% accurate and reliable since i have own it and i can't fault it in anyway. I brought this device for a bargain price of £6.99 from play.com and i was totally amazed by how good the product actually was for the price.

Overall, this USB flash drive is a great buy. It has a brilliant design and it is hard to find any faults with the device.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Great for moving files around if you need to be able to modify them regularly.

I recently bought one of these from Amazon for under £20 and have found it very useful for carrying files between the various computers that I use. No drivers are required for this as it is plug and play. This usb pen drive comes with a kneck strap supplied for easy portability and the white plastic case can be just wiped over to keep it clean. It has a bright light at the end which I think is an LED. This flashes when any data is being transferred either way. This helps make sure you don't unplug the device at the wrong time and risk losing data. It uses high speed USB 2.0 for fast data transfer but is also compatible with USB 1.1. There are some files stored on the device when it is supplied. These files are pictures and game tips for the game Prince of Persia. The files on the device can be deleted if of no interest or copied or transferred to a computer. This usb drive functions exactly the same as the cruzer micro which I also own.
The cruzer micro is a little smaller so I prefer the micro to this one.
