      Very helpful

Offers excellent protection for transfering your files

We bought 12 of these for our office as people kept losing them and as these are more secure, if they did go missing the data on them would be a lot harder to access because of the password protection.

We paid around £35 + VAT (each) from Insight and found them very easy to set up.

You just plug it into a spare usb slot on your pc or laptop and you wait for the wizard guide to pop up. This then lets you select the language, create a password and also create a password hint just incase you forget the password.

The best thing about the password creation is that it wont let you get away with creating small passwords. It will prompt you to enter between 6 to 16 characters and must contain a mixture of upper case, lower case letters and digits.

Once you've created the password the wizard is complete and you can then start using the device.

A blue icon appears at the bottom right of your computer which when you click on it allows you to change the password, browse the device, format the device and shut down the device. The last option is useful especially when you want to unplug it from your pc/laptop.

Every time you plug it into a computer/laptop the password box will appear and ask you for your password. After 6 incorrect attempts at the password it will lock the device out. We havent gone this far with ours but its good to know.

The technical bits for anyone really interested in one of these is that the device uses a 256 bit AES hardware-based encryption and works on Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 and higher, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and Windows Vista.

All in all the device is very good, its bigger than some other pen drives on the market and may feel a little chunky to some people, but then again they dont have password protection built in.
