Portable USB flash drive becomes a necessity for all people who have an access to a computer. Just like a cell phone, portable USB flash drives becomes a necessity for every person who have an access to a computer. If you're a student, you may left behind for school projects, assignments and lessons if you haven't have a USB flash drive. And just like a cell phone, one should upgrade his /her USB to store greater amount of data since most of the data today are quite big in terms of bytes used. A common examples are .mpeg, .ppt and very high resolution .jpeg files. And don't forget those .mp3 files of your favorite songs you must copy from a friend's computer. Therefore, a 2 gigabytes (or even a 4gig) worth of USB file capacity won't be able to hold as much data as you want. So just like a regular cell phone, I have decided to upgrade my Sony 4gig USB flash drive I've been using for 3 years now. And purchase this Sony Micro Vault Click 16 GB flash drive.
The main reason for choosing this product is that based on my previous experience with my old Sony USB flash drive, it does not give me any problems. It's copy and transfer rate is much faster compared to my other friends brands of flash drives. If you need help, Sony have a website to download software for easy install guide.Other things that made me choose this remarkable piece of gadget is that it does not have a cap. I've seen many friends who lost their USB's caps by just simply misplacing it somewhere the workspace. Since it does not require a cap, it automatically retracts from when withdrawn from your USB port (very simple but excellent innovation).
It is also very thin and is ultra light weight (less than 0.10 lbs.) which I barely felt hanging around my neck. A Virtual expander is also available which will help you store to as much as three times the data you could save. Its unique black and pink color fits my personality. And I won't miss its prism LED that glows beautifully when it's in use. The price though is quite higher than other brands but I am assured that its quality and innovation is far better to any of them.
And finally, just like a cell phone, my new Sony Micro Vault Click 16 GB USB flash drive will be one of my closest buddy for several years of come.
There's one thing you can be sure of when buying a flash memory stick, and that's that in a few months time you will be able to buy one with 8 times the capacity at one eighth of the price!
This pink trimmed 16Gb beauty from Sony will set you back around £35, which is about the same price that I paid for a 128 Mb stick a few years ago!
I use these things for transferring data between PCs and Macs, and find that some makes of stick are quite temperamental about working with both operating systems. However, I have had no such trouble with the Sony.
A minor irritation with these devices is that as their storage capacity becomes ever more vast, they seem to place heavier demands upon the USB buss in terms of power. In the good old days, memory sticks could be plugged into USB extension ports (i.e. on keyboards/monitors etc), but the larger capacity devices of today tend to demand full-on USB bus power.
Sony,a brand name you can trust, been around ages, make good quality stuff, right? well not exactly.
This pen has a great capacity,16gb is huge and is enough to store the average persons entire file system, for a start its more than enough for over 3000mp3's,and thousands of photographs.I filled it with all my uni work, loads of music, and two holidays worth of photographs and still it was less than half full!!The price of this stick is pretty good to,especially when you compare it to whats on the market at the moment.
The stick itself is a great size, its small enough to carry and use day to day and it weighs next to nothing. That where the positives end of the stick itself. The build quality on this player is shocking,i mean really bad,the plastic used feels like that of a cola bottle,it feels that thin and flimsy. Its creaks and squeeks as you plug it into the usb port and to a certain degree you can even twist the plastic!! it feels cheap and tacky and as though you bought it from the poundshop, not the sony shop.It seems like one drop could spell the end of your files,im exceedingly careful with mine,as i am with everything, yet ive still managed a hairline crack down its spine if you will.Terrible build quality!!
To end on a plus its incredibly easy to use with a great plug and play system!!
