I have taken more pictures in the last few years than I ever have before in my life thanks to my digital camera and mobile phone. Most don’t get printed out but I can’t bear to delete most of them as they are usually pictures of people and places that are important to me such as my husband or kids.
I used to get photos printed but now most of them are just kept on memory sticks. This has its upsides and downsides. It means that I don’t have a physical copy of them but it also means I can keep more pictures and look at them whenever I want on my laptop.
I have one of these memory sticks which is full of photos of my kids when they were younger. It is made by Sony and cost under £5. The one that I have is different to the picture that Ciao has because it is a bright pink colour rather than white. I like the pink colour because it is easy to see in the drawer so I don’t need to spend ages looking for the right one and can pick this out straight away if I need to see one of the kids pics on it.
It is really tiny even smaller than a normal USB stick so it is just as well it is so bright or otherwise it would be really difficult to find in the drawer amongst all the other sticks.
It works by plugging it into a USB connector on a laptop where it just shows up instantly as a removable device and you can just click on the folder to look at what is stored on it. It works really well and is easy to use and it always registers on my laptop when I plug it in.
It only has 8GB of storage which fills up fast but I have managed to store several hundred pictures on the card. The amount of things you will be able to store on it will depend of course on what it is that you are storing. It is fine for pictures and you can get loads on the card but I really think it is too small for other things like movies and even music you would be better off with a larger stick.
This is a really good quality memory stick that is sturdy and strong and for storing pictures on it and for under £5 it is really good value for money.
The key is in the design.
This 8GB memory stick uses USB 2.0 so is compatible with practically all laptops and desktops. Although it's not much to look at in its stark black coating it is suprisingly durable. This is mainly due to the sliding feature that the stick has, the actual USB connector itself can be slid inside the covering to protect it from damage. This is useful on its own, but the slider has an additional lock system where it needs to be pressed in order to move. This prevents it uncovering in your pocket and potentially getting damaged. The memory stick is very fast to save to with Macs and Windows and the slider button lights up when in use.
The only downside i could find with the stick was that it has no cover to protect the USB clogging with any fluff or dust. I found myself spending a lot of time before using the USB cleaning it out before i could plug it in.
Overall this was the most reliable memory stick i have used, where most others broke due to flimsy design this one stays strong. I would definately reccomend it to people who need to know their data is safe.
